The apartment is on the first floor of Woodland Terrace, which is a small, quiet, tree-lined residential block. It's right next to Penn. The room actually has its own entrance, in addition to the front door. It also has a walk in closet. The apartment has high ceilings and lots of natural light.

There are two bills to pay: electric (the bill was $67 last month and $75 the month before) as well as internet. There is central heating and central air. Good for on-street parking if you have a car. I should mention that the apartment is only 2 blocks from campus, and three blocks from Fresh Grocer, not to mention all the restaurants on 40th St. The 40th St. trolley portal is only a half-block away. Drexel is close, and USP / University of the Sciences is around the corner.

There is a huge living and dining room area. The place was renovated last year, so all the carpets, kitchen appliances, and bathroom fixtures are new. The cabinet are made of a nice wood, and the stove and refrigerator are black. The stove is very nice, with three normal size burners and one extra large one, and the oven phenomenal. The apartment also has very nice entryway, that is about 15 feet long and 4 feet wide, which we have turned into a kind of sitting room.

Elizabeth became one of Philadelphia's foremost early 20th century women artists (she studied under the renowned Thomas Eakins and DREXEL's Howard Pyle, but is perhaps best remembered as the orginal artist for the Ivory Soap illustrations!) and her architect-husband (who went on to become president of both Philadelphia's UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS and RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL OF DESIGN as well as Director of both the New York and Boston Metropolitan Museums of Art) was a former PENN and HARVARD professor and world-class architect/art historian/painter. The opera singer Pavarotti has performed here; it's been part of a past Chestnut Hill Historical Walking Tour, and in 1995 it was the site of a PBS-televised special.
