They'll ring doorbells, work the phones, help people get to the polls. IF, that is, we can find somewhere for them to stay.

Research shows that every personal contact with a potential voter increases the likelihood that that person will actually vote by 10%. Contact ten people and, on average, you increase voter turnout by one vote. If you figure a typical volunteer can reach 200 people in a day, that one person can increase voter turnout by 20 votes each day s/he works, which is huge. (Almost as good as the old Philadelphia tradition of voting "early and often.")

To help, all you need is a spare bedroom, a roll-out couch, your TV room sofa, or even floorspace to unroll a sleeping bag. So far, we have space for 600 volunteers. We need space for another 1400. Email me if you can help, or if you have any questions.
