Edgeos - http://edgeos.com

Edgeos, Inc. is a network and information security company focused solely
on enabling technology and network services organizations to provide
security services to their customers through the Edgeos private labeled
security services platform. Edgeos was founded in 2001 and has been
profitable for over five years, with customers in dozens of countries
around the world. Although Edgeos may be large in our market, internally
we purposely keep that "small company vibe" with great freedoms,
flexibility, environment, and our intentionally small, elite team.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Edgeos is hiring a stellar take-charge person to manage all of the
company's marketing. Your job would "own" all aspects of the marketing
efforts, including research, planning, strategies, execution, and
analysis. You *must* have experience operating and managing marketing
for a technology services company. Full-time, salary DOE, no recruiters
or agents please.

Our company mainly tele-commutes, so a good portion of the time you can
work from home, your favorite coffee shop, on the beach, or whereever else
you like. We have high expectations for our team, but keeping some cubicle
filled is not among them. As long as you excel at your job, exceed your
goals, and are a valuable member of our team, then often you can work
when/where you want.

With great freedom also comes great responsibility; everyone on our team
pulls their weight and creates great value for the company and our
customers. You must be take-charge, honest, resourceful, self-managing,
ambitious, and be able to make a huge positive impact on the growth of our
company. We will not tolerate slackers or dead-weight.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates will:
- have experience creating, directing, and/or managing marketing
programs and activities for a technology services company.
- not be afraid to be different, bold, and creative to generate
outstanding results!
- have the right aptitude and attitude; the desire to be a significant
part of a great company, a genuine interest in our technologies/industry,
and a passion for success.
- be professional, but not up-tight or stuffy.
- be extremely resourceful! You must be able to take responsibility for
a project, figure it out, and "just run with it" to make it happen.
- be self-motivated and self-managing. You must be able to take-charge
when necessary and get things done right the first time, with no hassle,
B.S., drama, or politics.
- be a creative problem solver and not afraid to break the mold and/or
break the rules (within reason, of course) to get things done quickly
and efficiently.
- be exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, and responsible. Much of
your job will involve very specific project details and require things
to always get done right the first time, every time.
- experience in the network/information security industry is not
required, but is a big plus if you have it.
- read our web site to see about our company, services, and our market.
If we interview you, we will grill you on these aspects.
- have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- have a firm commitment to the premise of "under promise and over
deliver."

Not required, but extra credit if your skills/experience includes:
- knowledge of the information security and technology industries.
- technical knowledge of network protocols and services.
- any Linux or other UNIX experience or knowledge.
- other geeky interests. Edgeos was founded by, and is run by, geeks.

HOW TO APPLY

| Loving Home Sought for Young Girl in Crisis.....

There are many, many children in the Portland area who need a nurturing, safe place to call home while they heal from the pain of their pasts. Today we are in seach of a home for one particular child....a nine year old girl who has been in the foster care system since the age of 2, and who has experienced multiple placements (at least 16), including a failed adoption at a very young age. This child needs and deserves a loving, supportive, committed set of parents, who will stand with her as she braves the challenging years ahead. Having experienced so much loss in her little life, this young girl has been emotionally and psychologically wounded, and now needs a soft place to land....a home where she can be safe....a home where she can be a child....a home where she can STAY.....a home where she can heal.

Let us tell you a little bit about this girl:

This girl is nine years old, but is tall for her age and presents as an older child. She is bi-racial, and is currently living in a residential treatment facility. Her providers have described her as being engaging and playful. Academically, she is performing at grade level, and really loves school. She is especially fond of reading, and enjoys stories about pets and other animals. This young girls is very athletic, and enjoys physical activities such as swimming, volleyball, and playing outdoors. She also enjoys listening to music and writing in her journal. This child enjoys being read to at night. She is aware of her appearance, and likes to be clean, use lotions, have her hair done and match her clothing.

Because of her past traumas, this child is easily "triggered" , sensitive, and often feels jealous of her peers and siblings in the home. She is a concrete thinker who can easily become embarassed if she does not, for instance, "get" a joke. Transitions, from task to task, are difficult for her, and she needs special cues to help make transitions successfully.

Who would make good parents for this child:

* Because this child has experienced so much trauma and loss, it is of the utmost importance that her new parents be willing to "go the distance" and
make a solid commitment to not give up on her, even though her behaviors may be difficult to deal with at times.

* Parents who are comfortable being a part of a team, and working closely with this child's therapist, teachers, etc.

* At least one caregiver who is not working outside of the home (at least not full-time), so that a parent is readily available for this child at any given time.

* A family that is interested in learning more about the effects of trauma and attachment issues, and who are open to learning new skills for helping this child cope with these issues.

* Parents who are willing provide this child the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities that she is interested in, especially physical activities.

* Because this child has experienced so much trauma, there will be times when her behaviors may be intense and disruptive. It is essential that the adults in her life are able to view these behaviors as an expression of her trauma, and not take them personally or interpret them as a failure of their ability to parent her, or as her being a "bad fit" for the family. For this child to have a future that is more successful than her past, it will be important for her caregivers to be resilient and to have adequate social supports (friends, family, community, etc.)who will come along side of them and support them in the nurturing and raising of this child.

The extra supports around this placement would include:

* A team of professionals who are committed to the future success of this particular child

* Adequate and planful respite care, so that the parents will be afforded regular and emergency breaks

* A generous, tax-free monthly stipend to cover the costs of raising this child and compensation for their time and committment

* Full medical, dental and mental health care insurance coverage for this child

* Crisis intervention planning and support

* Other special supports that this child has already qualified for

Time is of the essence in this case. We need to find a home for this young girl very soon. If you would like to learn more, please email me at tamaraboyd@hotmail.com, or phone 503-542-4011 and mention that you are calling about the child-specific ad on Craigslist. This situation may not be right for you, but may be for someone you know or have connections with. Please feel free to forward this information on to friends, churches, community organizations, etc. We appreciate your help!
