The Market Manager focuses on advancing ongoing brand presence and promotional programs in a manner consistent with approved account and consumer targeting standards under the direction of the Agency and the local clients. The Market Manager oversees a specific territory of markets and the activity and staff within those markets across all brands and programs. In addition, he or she oversees promotions and serves as a local on- and off- premise promotion expert knowledgeable of consumer trends and beverage alcohol competitor activities. The Market Manager reports to senior management based at Agency headquarters (NYC.) Responsibilities and Duties In general: • Recruit, train, and manage a pool of Field Ambassadors • Serve as point person and key local contact for the clients within territory • Build and establish relationships with existing and new local clients • Become expert on quality execution of promotions • Ensure quality execution and client, retailer satisfaction • Maintain inventory of uniforms and other reusable POS sufficient to support programming • Surface program and communication issues to Agency headquarters • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor event activities communicating new developments to Agency headquarters Week-to-week: • Assist Agency headquarters in coordinating staff schedules for planned promotions • Confirm weekly promotions with accounts and work with distributor personnel to ensure sufficient quantity of product is in venue to support scheduled events/promotions • Manage pick-up/delivery of POS kits and other materials required to support execution • Decorate/merchandise accounts as appropriate if it is part of program plan • Coordinate payment of bar tabs within approved budget framework • Execute promotion within brand approved program plan (ensure local customization approved) • Create and maintain an Excel schedule of planned promotions based on direction of local client or distributor consistent with brand plans to monitor status of all goals versus actual • Provide weekly updates to Agency headquarters on promotion activity/results through conference calls and territory reports When required: • Assist with planning and management of special events in specified markets • Sell-in and schedule promotions to selected retail customers in collaboration with the local client and distributor.
