It's a great collection but isn't worth anything other than sentimentality. I'm looking for an artist who can do something on a somewhat large scale with the newspapers that I can hang on my wall. It could be one large piece, or several smaller pieces, or even (this is kind of prefered given the space I'd like it in) one large piece with two small pieces to flank. I'd leave artistic discretion to you and we could talk price. I'm not able to offer a ton, but since I have so many papers, you could always take some and make a piece for yourself on top of what I commission to you, and you are welcome to photograph for portfolios as well. Must be professional, this a shoot produced by a major ad agency with a senior AD on site. I am looking for good quality assistants, not someone to get coffee (although if need be, we keep the client happy). Digital work will be minimal, but familiarity with Lightroom and digital capture is a plus. Your job is to be the extra hands that keep things moving smoothly and efficiently so you do have to know how to solve little glitches that inevitably happen. Handy with hand tools and able to climb a step ladder is also part of this. The studio runs much like a small business of which you are the manager, and the teen artists are your creative and production staff. HOURS: this job requires 25 to 30 hours/week during the school year (required hours are Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs afternoons, 2-6, and Tues 12-6) and 30 hours/week for 7 weeks in the summer (Mon through Thurs noon-6pm). There is the possibility of this position becoming full time by the end of the year. EDUCATION: BA/BFA degree in the arts, preferably graphic design, and a strong portfolio. SKILLS: Candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of Photoshop (7-CS3), Illustrator (10-CS3), InDesign (CS & CS3) and Dreamweaver. Knowledge of Flash is a plus. Excellent design skills with previous experience in a design studio or agency preferred.
