Most amp manufacturers put the 12aX7 tube in the preamp for overdrive/distortion and use a solid state power amp section. <![CDATA[I bought this off someone about a year ago and he told me he baught it back in the '90s. I think it was 96-98 somewhere so this guitar is aged, which is good. I don't think it was played much as he told me he didn't have time for it, but I played it a little, but mostly stick to my workhorse guitar for all my playing. I would occasionally stick a humidifier in this guitar, mostly on dry days and during the winter. I am selling it because I don't need 2 guitars at the moment. It will need strings because one of them broke from me tuning it to Open G for slide guitar. Might be able to get away with replacing the missing string, but the best sound will come from a new set. This guitar also has a hidden Electric pickup built into it. Just plug your cable into the bottom of the guitar at the strap holder. I do not see anything wrong with this guitar. I believe this is the Cedar version, though I have no way to tell.]]>
