Set up a meeting within the audition times to talk about what you can bring to the project. Synopsis: Nick and Andre run a small branch of a Smart Drug-dealing operation in the suburbs of New York. Smart Drugs, or Nootropics (their official name), are basically more advanced forms of Adderall that improve focus, memory, wakefulness, etc. etc. In the near future (2010), their popularity has expanded to include many different groups and uses. My project follows the experiences of these two dealers when they are forced to face their customers in person for the first time, and confront the real consequences of what they do, for better or worse. The main theme explores how modern technology can separate us from reality and face-to-face interaction. The characters are: -Nick Lorring (lead, 20-30), the charismatic sales/businessman side of the dealing operation, who finds new personal connections he didn't know he lacked; -Andre Paul (lead, 25-35), the strong-willed doctor/scientist side who finds the unsettling consequences of the drugs he makes; -Hoyt Zuckerman (30-40), the reclusive intellectual, one of Andre and Nick's customers; -and Cole Harrington (30-45), the powerful business executive who relies on smart drugs to maintain and expand his empire, another of Andre and Nick's customers. I am a local film maker with 3 shorts debuting in Decmeber, and would like to have a double DVD made for the films, some basic menus,3 subtitle languages (I am handling the translation), commentary tracks, etc. I need you to be local so we can sit down and discuss the project in full. 2 DVDs : #1 for the films shown 2 ways, and #2 for all the bonuses. I will handle the printing of the DVDs at home and be buying all the supplies. Ideally I'd like to meet and design them now, and just plug in the video files later when they are done, instead of waiting until last minute and trying to cram everything into a week of misery. Things can and will go wrong, its just how it goes. I'd prefer you know Adobe Encore, as that is what is on my Mac for DVD production, but other programs would work if we could figure out a way. This is a great learning experience and a great way to test your skill and spread your name out there.
