<![CDATA[This is Mischief, a 9-year-old solid black Domestic Short Hair, weighing around 9 pounds (yes, she's small and adorable!). She is up-to-date on all shots, is declawed in the front, and has had regular vet checkups annually. She is spayed and has never had any medical problems whatsoever. She is as absolutely sweet as can be, but is not getting along well with my girlfriend's 2 male cats. She is used to being Queen of the house but doesn't seem to take very well to other animals, especially other cats. But don't misunderstand, she is very social and loves people and kids! She is very affectionate and loves to sit in your lap while you're at the computer, watching TV, basically whenever she can. She also loves to sleep on the bed next to you. She purrs constantly and wags her tail when she's happy...she also LOVES to play fetch with her little stuffed animals, strange as that sounds! I swear she thinks she's a puppy sometimes! She likes to gaze out the window, but never goes outside. It breaks my heart to have to find a new home for her, but I know she's really not happy now and rehoming the other 2 males isn't an option. I think she would be happiest in a home where she is the only animal. I have a litter box (LitterMaid or regular, your choice) and plenty of food and toys available to go along with her, if needed. The original owner did not want her nor the person that she was given so she is in my hands now. The first owner stated she was to much energy and second owner stated that her dogs and Coca were not working out together so I promised I would foster her and fine her a loving home and a permanent family. She is solid black and is a very loving dog, excellent with small children and other pets. I have two small grandchildren (toddlers), 2 cats (one just had surgery) and of course a dog. She has done nothing but love everybody. She is laying beside me as I write this. I cannot have her passed off again so I need to make sure that the home that she goes to will love and keep her forever, with the condition that if it does not work out that she comes back to me. Cooter would go on truck and tractor rides with my dad while he was doing farm work but now there is no one around to provide any attention to him. He is around 5 years old and is neutered and on heartworm prevention. He gets along well with other dogs and loves people-we took him to the nursing home some a few years ago to visit the patients. He does have a scar around his neck from being tied up at his previous home. They have been together since the beginning and we do not want to separate them. One is a male and one a female. Our female is fixed and up to date on shots. IAR will be at the Petsmart at Patterson Place (on 15-501 near the intersection with I-40) Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23 from 1-5pm. Independent Animal Rescue is a foster based rescue and does not have a shelter location. At these events you'll be able to visit adoptable kittens and cats and their foster parents. Foster parents live with these kitties every day, so these events are a great way to get to know these lovable animals before you make the important decision to adopt. All IAR cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FeLV/FIV. All of this is included in the adoption fee of $100 (or $150 for a pair). <![CDATA[Meet Benedum, or Benny for short, our newest rescuee. Little Benny has been living out on our street, Benedum Place, for a few weeks now, primarily under the street. Benny is absolutely wonderful! He loves to be held, nuzzle your face, and is a huge purring machine. He is a constant licker- words cannot describe how loving this kitty is! We think Benny is approximately 12 weeks old. He has had his first shots at the vet and got tested for everything possible, and it all came back great! We are planning to get him neutered in the next week or so. Please let us know if you know of anyone that would like to add sweet Benny to their home. ]]>

<![CDATA[We have 3 little rescue kittens ready to find their homes! The two boy kittens are Goopy and James, and the girl kitten is Spaz. The 3 little ones look so much alike, we had to buy different colored collars for them before leaving their first vet appointment- but they are too big for the kittens! The kittens had their first distemper shots, and had fecal exams. Their mother, also available for adoption, was tested for feline FIV and leukemia, and it all came back negative. Now it's just after their first week with us and they are all doing great! Goldie is extremely loving and takes care of the other cats with her now- Benny and Sydney. She has sort of become the mom to both of them. Once her kittens were weaned and adopted she became a momma to all the fosters in my home. She groomed everyone and kept all kittens in line. Fiona is a really special, loving, and passionate kitty. She is as loyal as my dog is to me. Once Fiona creates the bond with her owner she is totally dedicated to you and gives you all her attention. We estimate her to be a little over 3 years old. She is a calm, submissive and sweet cat. Fiona is the kitty at your house that you don't even notice until you are sitting in her favorite chair or climbing in to bed, and then she makes her presence. She will start with a little nudging and follow up with sweet purrs and a few meows. Fiona only wants a little love and then she will let you be, sometimes though she just cant get enough. My uncle adopted her and then decided to move out and left her here with me until I could find her a home where she could get the attention she needs. He can't take care of her anymore, and I really don't have the time for her as I have a lot of animals of my own, and would prefer if she found loving a home where she can get the attention she deserves. He found her on Halloween night 2006 when she was a mear puppy roaming the roads with trick-or-treaters. So, shes probably going to be 3 years old in Sept. or Oct. of next year. Someone had docked her tail when he found her. She isn't spayed and shes had one rabies shot and is due for another. As far as I know, shes not house trained. She needs to be out on a farm or somewhere where she can roam. Shes VERY active and needs lots of play time. Shes really skinny, and I've been trying to fatten her up since my uncle left, and its a slow process. She can go through a 50lb bag of food in no time. She has one blue eye and one brown eye, which are so beautiful. Shes free to a good home, but I can't deliver or meet you half way, I have a 2 door car and no crate that would fit in my car and shes far too hyper to let her sit in the front seat. She loves to jump up on you when you walk up to her. She has a dog house that you can take with you if you'd like. My grandfather built it for me so we could keep her warm. She likes lounging on top of it during the day. She does bark a lot because shes been outside all of her life, and she barks when people come in the yard, but I'm sure than can be changed. Please help me find someone who would care for her and love her. Shes never really had love from my uncle, and shes in dire need of it. We got him in May but our other guinea pig does not like sharing the cage, and it is too much trouble having them in separate cages. He is timid at first, but it quick to warm up to you.
