Well here is the catch. I have herpes as do 20-25% of Americans. Many of you that have read this far are probably running away at this point, I am sure, but if you are still reading let me give you the education that I had to learn myself not so many months ago. Yes about a quarter of the population has this incurable disease. You cannot die from it. I am not contagious all of the time, just when I have an outbreak which I have never had or something called viral shedding which seemingly occurs a few days out of the year. It is the second most prevalent STD in the US aside from HPV. Yes it is contagious but again not all of the time. The same virus that causes you to get a cold sore on your mouth causes you to have it else where the only difference it has a preference where it likes to live. In the mouth or below the belt. The spreading of the disease is high not from those of us that know we have it but from people who do not know they have it. Most people that have it do not know they possess that little viral bugger and chances are that you have already sleep with some with herpes. The CDC states that about 90% of the people who have herpes do not know. You do not always have symptoms, like myself. I know I have it and have disclosed the fact to you already. I take medicine twice a day so that I do not spread it to anyone else and will no longer have sex without protection. That is not only to protect you but to protect me from getting something far worse. I have been tested for everything and am clean otherwise and have the papers to prove it. So what I am trying to say that while I have it, it is more likely that you will get it from someone who does not know they have it. I do not sleep around but I am single. I am by no means chaste but not promiscuous either. I have had 6 sexual partners in the last 12 years and one of them was my ex-husband. I used protection with everyone but one (outside my ex-husband). I got unlucky/stupid momentarily and now have to live with this for the rest of my life but I do not think I am ready to dry up and die yet. I still have a very healthy libido and want someone who can overlook this flaw that I did not ask for and realize that intelligently we can prevent the spreading of the disease from me to you. If you have it great then that is one less worry because you cannot get anymore of the disease you already have. Please do not have any other though. I want to keep my STD positive check list to the one I already have.
