Join our team of audio professionals in beautiful Truckee CA. developing computer based hardware demonstration packages showcasing our leading edge digital audio technologies. <br> <br> Overview: <br> <br> Although this is a Management position, the job requirements entail a considerable amount of hands on labor. The technical manager will be expected to carry out a range of administrative, audio and computer-related audio tasks. Although the individual nature of the manager's work will change for different projects, the main requirement is designing, organizing, testing, calibrating and effectively deploying media demonstration and “audio bake-off” systems so that the team can test, demonstrate and deploy Sonic Focus products to OEMs and businesses. A strong analytical and technical understanding of audiophile and PC systems is required. <br> <br> Directly report to VP Audio Systems, Sonic Focus, Inc., Truckee, CA <br> <br> Primary Responsibilities: <br> <ul><li>Supervising the work of audio technical staff <br> <li>Train and supervise department staff <br> <li>Monitoring the workload and work rate <br> <li>Managing and scheduling of contractors <br> <li>Arranging travel; provide staging, pack-out supervision and execution for audio demo equipment <br> <li>Organizing technical meetings and appointments in and out of USA <br> <li>Facility Management <br> <li>Supervising the implementation of new office systems; <br> <li>Liaising with and supporting members of the senior management team; <br> <li>Dealing with complex technical queries and complaints </li></ul> <br> <br> Typical Duties: <ul> <br> <li>Build Audiophile-quality and Professional audio Systems <br> <li>Repair ground loops and minor defects in audiophile and professional systems <br> <li>Update and test PC audio-related software <br> <li>Build audio presentation systems utilizing computers, amps, speaker enclosures, cabling, outboard processors, etc. <br> <li>Organize, schedule and direct trade show preparation, equipment configuration, testing, packing and shipment. Document demo systems lists w/ all interconnects, equipment and cases <br> <li>Contact dealers, distributors, and manufactures regarding component and system specifications. Manage returns in a timely manner, negotiate “best” pricing for equipment, create schedule and reimbursement reports in a timely manner. <br> <li>Generate and evaluate quotes for equipment purchases <br> <li>Create Daily status reports for VP Audio Systems <br> </li></ul> <br> Requirements:<ul> <br> <li>Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally. <br> <li>Must live in the vicinity of the Lake Tahoe office. <br> <li>Must be willing to set up for sales customers of ARC and travel to corporate office in San Jose, CA for setup. <br> <li>Must be willing to train ARC San Jose personnel on demo system setup. <br> <li>Create docs for setup, tuning and management of audiophile and consumer demo systems. </li></ul> <br> ARC provides a competitive compensation package which includes: stock option, dental, medical, vision and life insurance benefits. Must be able to use calendar, word processing and spreadsheet software with basic proficiency. <br> • Demonstrated high level of proficiency with CADD software required. <br> • Fluent in contemporary architectural/ interior design vocabulary (physical, graphic, and verbal). <br> • Excellent space planning and interior design proficiency. <br> • Understanding of building codes and ability to incorporate code requirements into designs. <br> • Ability to visualize drawings in 3D and fully understand the physical properties of building components represented by drawings. <br> Critical Characteristics: <br> • Good communicator. Must be able to effectively and appropriately use all communication disciplines. <br> • Creative. Must be able to identify key design issues and produce innovative solutions to design problems. <br> • Collaborative Worker. Must cooperate with production team as well as Anova support services, to facilitate cooperation and streamlined internal operations. <br> • Flexible.
