I want to form a band along the lines of bands like Sky Eats Airplane, I Set My Friends On fire, The Devil Wears Prada, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Silverstein, and Hawthorne Heights. <![CDATA[I am a local electronic producer looking for a studio to do a few professional mix downs of 4 tracks that me and my buddy will be releasing on a small techno label. My sessions in my home studio are done with Reason 4.0, Nuendo 3.0 and a variety of software synths within the main DAW application. All of the VST Instruments and Sample tracks within Nuendo will be printed down to 24bit 88.2 audio files for ease of moving them into probably a protools setup or which ever application, but I want the studio to have Reason 4.0 so that we can do live automation during the final print down. I am looking for a couple of things, if anyone can help me locate a studio that fits my needs I would greatly appreciate it. 1. Quality A/D converters (Apogee would be great, at the least Protools HD I/O's). 8-16 I/0 is perfect for me). 2. Outboard compressors (1176 or Distressors etc.....) 3. I nice Lexicon or TC Electronics Time based processor. 4. Reason 4.0 software installed (I can even install my copy on the DAW for the recording session and remove after, and legit copy too, not some crack). 5. Protools or Nuendo (I can use Cubase too), I am no good in logic. I would like to be able to do a 24 hour lockout session or purchase at least 8 hour blocks at a time. I am a college accredited audio engineer, I do FOH mixing for local shows and live sound reinforcement for clubs here in town. I also have been a studio engineer for tracking and mixing so I am not looking to have my hand held or pay for my engineers in the studio. All I need is someone that is familiar and proficient with the setup in the facility incase I can't get some strange routing or FX concept to work. This is on Thanksgiving day from Noon to 1p.m. We need approx. 45-50 minutes of easy to listen to music as we serve many elderly, vets, as well as working poor and those down and out. This is a great event as we serve restuarant style and have entertainment on the stage during dinner service as well as having face painters, balloon artist and strolling magicians to mix with the crowd. Vocal Influences (no order): The Smashing Pumpkins Placebo Marilyn Manson AFI Beck Amy Winehouse Deftones Radiohead Cold The Mars Volta Papa Roach Queens of the Stone Age The Verve I listen to a lot of music, new and old, primarily alternative rock and hip-hop - but I like a little bit of everything. Friends say my vocal style is kind of like Brian Molko from Placebo and Bret Helm from Audra. Look them up if you'd like an idea? I don't play an instrument, though I practiced guitar (private lessons) for about two years. I don't know about writing music just yet, that's you, but I will definitely write lyrics and melodies to go along with your music. (But you can write those too if you'd like me to sing them.) I would love to eventually play paid gigs and even work with a goal of eventually getting signed. I' m 21 - I don't mind working with people a little older or younger. If we're really going somewhere, I would consider taking voice lessons so that I could do even more. As of now, I can't really scream if that's what you're looking for. While I like a lot of music, I think my singing is fit more for something alternative or metal, possibly tinged with keyboards or some kind of electronic vibe. I'm down to practice, get to know each other, and make this all work. I have never been in a band before, but I will take this seriously if we all agree we want to pursue this. I think that my vocals and lyrics would be more serious (sad, angry, contemplative, etc) and not particularly upbeat. But I'd like to try whatever, as I certainly don't have a firm idea of what to do either (never been in a band before.) Rates are $20 per half hour & $35 per 1 hour lesson. I am willing to work out "group rates" if you have more than one person that would like to take lessons at the same time. I accept Cash Only, payable at each lesson. 
 

 
I only give lessons from my home in downtown Sacramento. This is our family home and so there is usually at least one other adult present in the home during lessons (although they will not be in the room during your lesson). If you are under 18 years old, you must have an adult accompany you to at least your first lessons. This is to assure your safety & mine.
