Our mission is to support women and children in their transition to independence. Orientation and Training: Offer group and one-on-one orientation and training sessions to both assess volunteer fit and train volunteers for job duties at EHouse. <br> 5. Recognition and Retention: Maintain open and regular communication with all volunteers. Perform regular assessment of volunteer fit and abilities through formal and informal discussion with both volunteers and residents or other staff members interacting with volunteers. The Infant Mental Health Clinician provides a variety of services including developmental assessment and guidance, case management, parent-infant dyadic therapy and provision of concrete services, with infants and young children (0-5 years) and their families. Services are delivered in the home and community, based on the needs identified by the family. Learn more at www.TransFormCA.org. <br> <br> TransForm seeks an experienced transportation advocate to lead our recently expanded efforts at the state level to protect and expand funding for public transportation and to ensure the California’s climate change strategies promote public transit, smart growth, walking, and bicycling. Read more about these efforts in TransForm's new strategic plan, which can be downloaded at www.TransFormCA.org. <br> <br> The State Transportation Advocate is a new, senior-level position that will be based out of a new Sacramento TransForm office. The position will be supervised by TransForm’s Executive Director. <br> <br> The ideal candidate will have a strong background in: transportation policy or planning; building diverse coalitions; communications and advocacy; and a strong commitment to reforming our transportation system to meet environmental and equity goals. He/she would also live near Sacramento. Applicants that live within two hours of Sacramento by transit, are willing to be in Sacramento at least three and sometimes four days per week, and meet or exceed all of the qualifications will also be considered. This is not a lobbyist position. <br> <br> Role of the State Transportation Advocate <br> • Coordinate with key groups to build and help lead a coalition for expanding state funding for public transportation. <br> • Represent TransForm in the development of transportation proposals that may be part of the AB 32 implementation process, including congestion pricing, climate impact fees, etc. <br> • Coordinate efforts with existing networks such as Green California, the Global Warming Action Coalition and ClimatePlan, and as appropriate, provide leadership on specific proposals and initiatives. <br> • Analyze and clearly summarize transportation proposals from state agencies, with recommendations on how they can better meet equity, environmental, and efficiency goals. <br> • Bring a wider range of voices, including labor, social justice, and other key stakeholders into the movement for sustainable transportation. <br> • Work with other leaders to create a long-term agenda for sustainable transportation at the state level. <br> • Help develop a media and communications strategy, and serve as a primary spokesperson for TransForm on state transportation issues. <br> <br> Participate in national dialogues and convenings of other state transportation leaders to help disseminate California policy innovations (including AB 32 and SB 375), and bring innovative ideas to California. <br> Qualifications <br> <br> The position is best suited for a leader with a background in transportation policy or planning, coalition building and advocacy, and familiarity with Sacramento’s players and politics. Minimum requirements include: <br> <br> • Master's degree in transportation policy, city planning, urban design, or other related field and at least three years of relevant experience or a bachelor's degree and at least five years of relevant experience. <br> • Ability to analyze, synthesize and effectively communicate complex information to audiences of varying familiarity with transportation issues. <br> • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to large audiences. <br> • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals from many different sectors and of varying ethnic background, age, and education level. <br> • Strong record of achievement, with increasing levels of responsibility in previous positions. <br> • Strong project management skills and an ability to manage multiple assignments, set measurable objectives, prioritize work and ensure partners meet shared deadlines. <br> • Outstanding strategic thinking, planning skills, and political instincts. <br> • Ability to work independently, and as part of teams. <br> • Open-minded and flexible, with both a sense of humor and humility. <br> <br> How to Apply <br> <br> Please send a detailed cover letter outlining your experience and interest in the position to jobs@TransFormCA.org along with your resumé.
