<![CDATA[The Western Regional Office of Ducks Unlimited, Inc. (DU) is soliciting applications for an experienced Regional Biologist headquartered in Rancho Cordova, CA. The incumbent will become part of a team of biologists and engineers responsible for conserving, enhancing, and restoring wetland and wild land habitats in California’s Sacramento Valley.

Qualifications
<br>
Candidates must have at a minimum, a Bachelor of Science degree in a natural resources field. An advanced degree is desirable. Applicants must have at least three years of relevant experience. Applicants must have a basic knowledge of state and federal wetland conservation programs; policies and laws; wetland ecology; and waterfowl, shorebird, and waterbird biology.
<br>
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to use personal computers are required. Proven grant writing skills are desired. Familiarity with the Sacramento Valley’s biological resources, local and regional environmental issues, and private and public stakeholders is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities
<br>
Incumbent’s duties and responsibilities will include initiating, coordinating, and delivering private and public wetland enhancement and restoration projects; representing DU at certain venues related to wetland conservation; providing biological resource support to DU’s land protection program; and other conservation activities. Project initiation includes developing relationships with appropriate public and private landowners and agencies that have current or future potential to establish partnerships with DU to enhance and restore wetlands and identifying potential sources of funds for project work. In addition, incumbent will establish and maintain relationships with key DU volunteers and development staff and provide DU management with timely communication on events and issues in the area.

Project delivery will include coordinating with landowners, DU engineering staff, contractors and permitting agencies to ensure timely and on-budget delivery of projects. Negotiation of project agreements, report writing, field monitoring, and entries related to project tracking through DU’s business information system would also be required. The Regional Biologist will write and submit proposals to various funding agencies, foundations, and other funding sources to secure project funds.

Preferred Skills:

Winzler & Kelly is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to establish an Environmental Service Group in our Sacramento, San Jose or San Francisco office. We currently have Environmental Service Groups in Santa Rosa, Eureka and Portland. This position includes business development, writing and managing a variety of CEQA documents, as well as managing the acquisition of resource permits and eventually supervising staff.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Develops planning studies and reports in support of new and updated plans, programs and regulations
<br>
- Reviews or assists in the review of moderately difficult development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans, and regulations
<br>
- Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government entities.
<br>
- Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, tax base data, etc.
<br>
- Evaluates or assists in the evaluation of rezonings, ordinance amendments, site plans, special use permits, variances and other proposals.
<br>
- Coordinates community review of public and private development projects
<br>
- Provides information to the clients and the public regarding development regulations
<br>
- Assists in resolving client issues
<br>
- Conducts field evaluations and assessments
<br>
- Leads business development efforts
<br>
- Supervises and grows the office’s environmental department

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
<br>
<br>
- BS/BA in Planning, Environmental Studies, Geography, Natural Resources, or a related field
<br>
- At least 10 years experience writing CEQA documents
<br>
- Ability to review plans and apply provisions of the ordinances and codes to determine compliance with such regulations and to apply regulations to field conditions
<br>
- Ability to create graphic designs, development strategies and render site plans via sketches and/or computer graphics
<br>
- Good verbal and written communication skills including effective writing techniques
<br>
- Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously
<br>
- Knowledge of one or more planning disciplines, (urban design, economic development, land use, etc.)
<br>
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
<br>
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, Internet applications, database management or and GIS
<br>
- Business Development experience including proposals, interviewing, and strategy
<br>
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior and mid-level staff

- Proficient in project management and the use of accounting software

The Manufacturing Engineer will manage activities related to manufacturing documentation and technical support. The person in this position will define, implement and control the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) required for single-use systems manufacturing operation, and will further develop the efficiency of manufacturing equipment, working procedures and environment to improve productivity and lower production costs.
<br>

A partial list of job responsibilities includes:

• Write Manufacturing SOPs in compliance with the Quality System documentation policy through the Product Life Cycle Management system (Smarteam).
<br>
• Pro-actively collaborate with counterparts in other manufacturing sites to define common Group rules for SOPs in manufacturing.
<br>
• Convert the existing Specific Manufacturing Instructions into controlled SOPs.
<br>
• Review, update, and approve existing Specific Manufacturing Instructions (SMI), Integrated Technical Documents (ITD) and/or manufacturing procedures.
<br>
• Assure that production-related documentation in the ERP and PLM are up to date, accurate and consistent.
<br>
• Continuously improve and optimize operating procedures, work flows and data management.
<br>
• Work with Production staff to verify manufacturing times and work cells are properly identified in Manufacturing Routers.
<br>
• Help investigate complaints and assist in performing root cause analysis.
<br>
• Assist in transfer of technical information and expertise (related to processes) between international sites.
<br>
• Collaborate with Sartorius Stedim Biotech, France personnel in creation of common processing rules.
<br>
• Evaluate product design ideas based on factors such as: client specifications, applications, and functionality of product manufacturing methods, appearance and commercial availability of materials and components.

Qualifications (required)
<br>
• BA/BS in Engineering.
<br>
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills are required.
<br>
• 1-4 years of manufacturing experience or related process work experience within the Biopharmaceutical field.
<br>
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
<br>
• Understanding and proficiency in metric dimensional information and conversions required.
<br>
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
<br>
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
<br>
• AutoCAD and Solidworks experience is desirable.
<br>
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing Concepts highly desired.
<br>
