I mostly walk for exercise and enjoy walking all over Hillcrest, Balboa Park, etc. Some things I like to do or would like to do: Free Tuesdays at Balboa Park Museums for San Diego residents, Bingo at The Center every 3rd Tuesday, free concerts at Balboa Park, shoot hoops, watch basketball on TV together or go to games, etc. I love to cook, read cookbooks and restaurant menus! I love to travel including, but not limited to, weekend road trips! I enjoy going to new places, scenery, etc. I love to learn and will probably continue to attend college part-time for the rest of my life! Currently taking culinary classes at Mesa College. Country music and soft rock (easy listening) music are my favorites...anything soothing that makes you think. Definitely not the hard-rocker type. Occasionally like hip hop/rap but not usually. Diet coke is my vice! I'm a weight watchers success story. I love maps! I enjoy learning about new places, cultures, etc. I love basketball. Enjoy playing it and watching it. My favorite is women's basketball, but I enjoy the men's game too. (Or is it the men maybe?) I also like women's college volleyball. (Not the guys for some reason) TV-wise I hardly watch any network TV except for maybe Good Morning America and of course the Young and the Restless. (I'm serious, I have been watching Y&R for 30 years!) Otherwise my favorite shows are: Any show on the food network, Kathy Griffin or something like Survivorman on the Discovery Channel. I guess I did watch Dancing with the Stars some last season too. I like The View too and the Rachel Ray show, although I can only take Rachel in small doses. Used to love OPRAH but haven't been watching her much lately for some reason. OBAMA SUPPORTER, although I wanted Hillary to win. Physically, I'm not chopped liver, but wouldn't call me "the bomb" either. Most people say I look good for my age. I'm 5'8", Brown/Blue, on the hairy side, decent shape, Minnesota Scandinavian type I guess you'd say. I was actually born and raised in North Dakota (get out your map), I also lived in Minneapolis for 15 years and California for 10 years (5 years in San Diego and 5 years in Sacramento) Used to wear a goatee but am clean shaven now for the first time in 30 years. I'm a non-drinker and non-smoker, but I don't discriminate that way towards others. As far as what I like, personality is definitely most important because I'm really looking for a friend first. I am not looking for "perfect" people because I'm not perfect. (Every man has his follies and sometimes it's the most interesting thing he's got!) It's rare to find people these days, especially in our community, who are into their mind and spirit as much as their body. I am always working to be a more well rounded person and try to surround myself with people who have the same mindset. Romantically speaking, I tend to go more for darker featured guys, i.e. anything from white guys who have dark hair/dark eyes to hispanic or black. I'm an equal opportunity employer I guess you'd say. I tend to go for the more sports-minded guy who is open, honest and friendly. But again, that's not really why I'm posting here... Although my job definitely does not define who I am, just to let you know (in case you care!) that I have worked in the travel business (group tours) for over 25 years as tour guide, office manager and business owner and have had the good fortune to travel a lot.
