MORNING FOR MARISA porcelain doll by Renate Hockh

Presenting: MORNING FOR MARISA by Renate Hockh from "What A Beautiful World" by Georgetown Collection. This striking doll is composed of Porcelain with a Cloth Body and is 10" high in her seated position. She is brushing her luxurious, long, black hair in the first photo and preparing to braid it in the last. The expression on her face and the position of her body are quite unique and very realistic for someone that is brushing out their own hair while deep in thought. This doll's costume is just wonderful, there is great texture and nice decorative trim on her blouse and she's wearing two pieces of jewelry that suit her perfectly. Her bare feet are just beautiful! She is totally mint and comes in her original box that is still in very good condition, along with her signed certificate of authenticity and her cute little hair brush. This doll seems more like a sculpture of a child than a doll to me. A true work of art!

Ordered by the US Government on November 22, 1854, this sword was delivered to the US on March 27, 1856. Only 500 Swords of this type were delivered in that year. This sword has all of the original markings including “A.D.K.” which refers to A.D. King the Army Inspector from 1850-1865.

The Model 1855 Socket Bayonet saw action in the Civil War and probably more of these were used than all other bayonets of the period. The Model 1855 was fitted over the barrel muzzle, and fastened into position by means of a mortise slot and locking ring. These were designed to fit various manufactured .58 muskets.

This Model 1855 Socket Bayonet was recovered near the Union Trenches along Mine Run Road, most likely as part of the Battle of Chancellorsville (May 1-3, 1863).
