Help Fight Breast cancer Free >

Hi to all Breast Cancer supporters. This seems pretty simple. Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free funding for mamograms. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "Fund Free Mamograms" for free. This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate money for advertising. Here's the web site! There is also a few links to feed animals, feed people and the rainforest site. Pass it along to people you know.

I'm starting a station called TRU Underground. $50/month will get you multiple advertising spots throughout the airtime. We currently broadcast from 12PM noon to 7PM, but will be expanding to a 24/7 broadcast really soon.

If you have a spot prepared, that's great. If you'd like me to prepare it, it's only $25 more.

You can also advertise events too!

If it's easy for you, you can pay via paypal. Or you can send a check or money order. And your ad gets on the air.

I was stopped at a red light on HWY 12, at the Off-ramp at Farmers Lane. I was approximately 6 cars from the light, and had been stopped for 15 seconds before the other party rear-ended me.
After the other party hit me, they drove around the passenger side of my vehicle, and stated we should drive to a safer location. So, I followed the other party, onto Farmers Lane, north towards Sonoma Ave. As we approached Montgomery Village parking lot, the other party accelerated, even though cars had been slowing due to after-school traffic. The other party drove back and forth, in and out of lanes. At the entrance of the Montgomery Village parking lot, the other party, and myself, were in the Left hand lane.
The other party then swerved in front of a line of traffic, and into the parking lot.
I stopped immediately, and motioned to the car on my right to let me pass into the parking lot. They let me pass. There were pedestrians standing outside Ross and Great Clips, watching, as the other party sped through the parking lot towards the exit next to Chase Bank, onto Sonoma Ave. The other party passed the ATM side of Chase Bank. There was another vehicle, attempting to drive the speed limit, in front of the other party. The other party was laying on their horn, from entering until exiting the parking lot, apparently in an attempt to move people from in front of their car. The other party almost hit 3 pedestrians, and 2 other vehicles.
Upon exiting the parking lot, the other party proceeded to accelerate to approximately 55-60 mph. The other party then drove East on Sonoma Ave, in the right hand turn lane, and cut in front of the line of traffic waiting at the RED LIGHT at the intersection of Hahman and Sonoma Ave., and drove off.

If you, or anyone you know, witnessed ANY part of this incident, PLEASE contact me via this ad, ASAP. Please.

Attending this session is the first step in the application process. Applications, additional info session dates, and the current training schedule is available at http://www.sfcasa.org/training.htm. Although it's not required, we strongly recommend that you bring a completed volunteer application to the orientation to increase the likelihood of acceptance into the program.

Upcoming Information Session:
Friday, March 19th @ noon – SFCASA Office: 100 Bush St. at Battery

These locations are accessible to the Montgomery BART/MUNI station. We highly recommend that you take public transit: parking is expensive and street parking is difficult to find.

CASA Volunteering

The foster care system is incredibly overwhelmed. Even with the best of intentions, social workers simply can't spend enough time on each case and with each child to really know what they want and need. This is where a CASA Volunteer steps in.

After successfully completing the SFCASA Training Program, being sworn in as an Officer of the Court, and being assigned one child’s case; a CASA volunteer spends time once a week with the child, gets to know them, finds out what they need and want, and makes sure that their voice is heard both in and out of the court room. Having a CASA on a case ensures the child does not fall through the cracks in the system.

CASA volunteers are required to complete a 40-hour training and once assigned to a case, commit to serving as a CASA 2-4 hours per week for 18 months. CASA's involvement impacts the child for a lifetime and for generations to come. Children with a CASA benefit in countless ways: they are more likely to be placed in a safe, permanent home, they are more likely to receive better services, and they more likely to have fewer placement changes.

In 2007, over 100 new CASA volunteers completed their training and were sworn in as Officers of the Court. In 2008, SFCASA served over 280 children in the foster care system. Currently, 1700 children are in the foster care system in San Francisco. About 15% of these children have been appointed a CASA.

Help us give every child in the foster system the voice they deserve.

R.S.V.P. for an upcoming information session!

Please contact Leah Cerri at 415-399-6132 or Leah@sfcasa.org. Men and people of color are especially encouraged to apply. Note: all applicants must be 21 years of age to apply; this is all mandated by the courts.

I recently bought Healthy Choice and Hungry Man microwavable meals from Safeways in Concord and the Target in Walnut Creek.

Even though the boxes were in tact, the trays were broken so much so that it was not possible to microwave the meals. Even if I tried to put a paper plate underneath, there would still be the risk of the plastic in the food.

Based on their web sites, the companies seem unrelated to one another unless they somehow get their plastic trays from the same company.

Yesterday I bleached with oxalic acid (nasty stuff!) per instructions. Results were okay so I rinsed with distilled water and baking soda twice to neutralize the acid, also per recommendation, and what the?!? The gray water stains became very pronounced and the floors look worse than they did before bleaching. ARGH! Clearly I did something wrong, but I don't know what and I don't know how to fix it.

Not expecting perfection here -- the floors are only going to get so good because I rent, and do not want to pour a ton of money into this project. But I do care that they look nice and also don't want to do further damage.

Please write:

- If you know of an honest professional who can stop by my Mission District apartment and provide a consultation on how to fix and avoid in the future, I will happily compensate them for their time.

Did you know however that we're all being demanded by the government to pay taxes within our phone bill that have nothing to do with phones or us?

This is directly from the FCCs site-
Charge for Network Access (Subscriber Line Charge):

This charge covers the costs of the local phone network. This charge may appear as “FCC Charge for Network Access,” “Federal Line Cost Charge,” “Interstate Access Charge,” “Federal Access Charge,” “Interstate Single Line Charge,” “Customer Line Charge” or “FCC-Approved Customer Line Charge.” The FCC sets the maximum allowable Federal Subscriber Line Charge. This is not a government charge or tax, and it does not end up in the U.S. treasury.

Voice Mail:

This item is provided as a service by your local telephone company. This service may be disconnected for nonpayment, but nonpayment of this service will not result in disconnection of your local telephone service.

Universal Connectivity Fee (Universal Service Fund), Federal:

Because telephones provide a vital link to emergency services, to government services and to surrounding communities, it has been our nation’s policy to promote telephone service to all households since this service began in the 1930s. The USF helps to make phone service affordable and available to all Americans, including consumers with low incomes, those living in areas where the costs of providing telephone service is high, schools and libraries and rural health care providers. Congress has mandated that all telephone companies providing interstate service must contribute to the USF. Although not required to do so by the government, many carriers choose to pass their contribution costs on to their customers in the form of a line item, often called the “Federal Universal Service Fee” or “Universal Connectivity Fee”.

Local Number Portability:

The FCC allows local telephone companies to recover certain costs for providing telephone number portability to its customers. Telephone number portability allows residential and business customers to retain, at the same location, their existing local telephone numbers when switching from one local telephone service provider to another. The LNP Charge is a fixed, monthly charge. Local telephone companies may continue to assess this charge on their customers’ telephone bills for five years from the date the local telephone company first began itemizing the charge on the bill. This charge is not a tax.

Emergency 911:

This charge is imposed by local governments to help pay for emergency services such as fire and rescue.

TRS (Telecommunications Relay):

This charge helps to pay for the relay center which transmits and translates calls for hearing-impaired and speech-impaired people.

Federal Excise Tax, Federal:

This three percent tax is now applied only to local service billed separately from long distance service.

State & Local Taxes:

This charge is imposed by state, local and municipal governments on goods and services. It may also appear as a “gross receipts” tax in some states.

Carrier Universal Service Charge:

Single Bill Fee:

Some carriers charge a monthly fee for combining local and long distance charges onto one bill. This fee is not mandated by the FCC and is not an FCC charge. Some phone companies waive the fee for customers who pay bills online or by credit card. Also, consumers may avoid the “single bill fee” by arranging for separate billing from their long distance carrier.
SO HERE'S MY COMPLAINT
$17 this month in charges listed above that have nothing nada zip to do with me and my phone and the relationship I have with my phone company.

Are you involved in the life of someone you care about or live with who has a serious mental health issue or emotional disturbance? We want to hear from you!

The Family Education and Resource Center is a new program of The Mental Health Association of Alameda County, a non-profit organization which is passionate about providing services to family members and caregivers of persons of all ages, cultures and ethnicities living with serious mental health issues and/or emotional disturbances. Our goal is to provide education, information, referrals and support to promote wellness, recovery and hope. We want to begin to do more to support youth who are family members.

*Need not be biologically related, but being a family member or caregiver is required

This is a 2 hour focus group and you will be paid for participating. We will provide light refreshments as well.

| We are producing a documentary on the impact that foreclosure is having on Americans, America, the American Dream, and the family struggle to find sense and sanity in these hard and confusing economic times. The executive producer is creating this film from a FIRST HAND account of foreclosure and the failure and damage done by our politicians and financial institutions.

If you are, or you know, someone who is fighting foreclosure, have lost a home to foreclosure, someone who is struggling with the financial situation due to a home purchase and wish to tell your story on camera, we could use your help. These interviews will become the footage used for the trailer of the film created to obtain financing to make the feature film.

This production will be traveling throughout the United States to small towns and cities discussing with citizens over their kitchen tables, cafes, and Living Rooms about their feelings of loss, societal separation, anxiety, depression, loneliness, failure, disgust, and many other feelings that all people are having due to the failure of the system, and the common feelings of confusion as we all watch the financial institutions reap the benefits of their own failures and manipulations. We will be talking with other folks like yourselves, as well as, local and state politicians, corporate CEO, bank presidents, mortgage lenders and more as we make our way across the country showing the vast psychological damage that Wall Street has created. We are calling on you to help us help each other find solace and restitution to the feelings that most Americans have of being discarded within the system.

We will be submitting the film to various film festivals and competitions including Sundance for the 2011 season in Jan, so there is much work to do.

Keep up the fight!
We look forward to hearing from you.

If you could please send us an emailed message regarding your story and your contact information, we will follow up as we get through them. We are getting thousands of responses from throughout the United States and find it best to begin the initial process in this manner.

Thank you very much for your time. I know exactly what you are all going through!!
Be well.
