Complete IDP documentation of standard products as directed. <br> <br> 7. UL support for the factory as an initial POC for UL inspections and issues involving standard products and the processes or procedures in manufacturing and/or assembly of them. <br> <br> 8. Develops cost justification analyses and prepares Authorizations for Fiscal Expenditure (AFE) request documents for capital budget projects <br> <br> 9. Serves as a team leader for the implementation of continuous improvement efforts and related to cost reduction programs. <br> <br> 10. Provide engineering support as required in design changes to improve productivity and DTC/DFM products to improve process flow. <br> <br> 11. Serves as the manufacturing team representative in the New Product Development Team. <br> <br> 12. Assists in the creation of Routers as directed. <br> <br> 13. Develop required documentation to support assembly and shipments of products to include standard assembly and installation instructions as required by production. <br> <br> 14. Coordinate the creation of drawings to support fabrication, assembly and purchasing. <br> <br> 15. Develop standard nomenclature conventions and drive the standardization process for all components in the CL item master. <br> <br> 16. Conduct manufacturability review and lead efforts to standardize common components and reduce production cost of new and existing product components. <br> <br> 17. Implement and manage work flow of ECO/ECN changes as they relate to component and assembly drawings. Develop a documentation control process for drawings that maintains current revision for internal use and vendor reference. <br> <br> 18. Provide first level review of MOD/Custom IDP packages prior to hand-off to manufacturing to provide high level QA on standard nomenclature and standard dimensional tolerance and fit-ups. <br> <br> <br> <br> NATURE AND SCOPE: <br> <br> The Sustaining Engineer – Lead position reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for manufacturing design support. Day to day activities require minimal hands-on supervision. <br> The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the sustaining team to provide engineering support to increase productivity and profitability of the factory by designing highly engineered products and documentation to build products that meet our safety, quality, delivery and cost targets. This position requires the working knowledge of the plant which may include assembly, paint, metal fabrication/machining and/or spinning/polishing. Additional responsibilities include the development of equipment specifications, cost justification for capital projects and setting and achievement of cost reduction goals.
