The ideal candidate will understand how to use songs to engage children and lift their spirits as the camp day begins. The morning music time is a sing-along, not a performance. We are looking for people with experience working with children. You should have a large repertoire of fun, engaging songs that encourage children to participate. Campers are ages 5-15, and the audience of children ranges from 100 - 200 children at a time. You must be able to project clearly out of doors (there is no electricity for amplification). You must have your own transportation (there is no bus service to camp) and reliability is a must. The hours are from approximately 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., Monday through Friday, from June 21st through September 3rd. The pay is $200 - $250 per week depending on experience. <![CDATA[RESEARCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED The Cholesterol Research Center at the Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI) needs research participants for a study on saturated fat and cholesterol metabolism. If you qualify, you will follow two specific diets, each for 3 weeks. At the end of each diet phase, you will visit the clinic for laboratory tests. Every week during the study, you will need to visit the clinic to pick up your food and be weighed. <![CDATA[The City of Berkeley’s Echo Lake Camp, located in South Lake Tahoe, is looking for fun, creative, hard working and responsible individuals who would like to spend their summer with us at our beautiful residential camp. Echo Lake Camp sits atop a 7400’ ridge overlooking Lake Tahoe in the El Dorado National Forest, just minutes away from Echo Lake and the Desolation Wilderness. We are a 3.5-hour drive from Berkeley and only 20 minutes from South Lake Tahoe. From sunrise past sunset our counselors lead campers in swimming, hiking, canoeing, sports, arts & crafts, games, campfires, night hikes and other supervised activities. Echo Lake Youth Camp runs Monday – Friday, and Family Camp and rental groups use camp on the weekends. Most counselors will only work Monday – Friday, and take the bus to and from Berkeley with the campers. This study uses functional and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to see how pain is represented in the brain. MRI is safe, non-invasive, and does not use X-rays or radiation. You must have personal or professional experience with dogs or cats. Please tell us about your animal experience in your letter or resume. Counselors run group play sessions, clean runs, do dishes and laundry, give out bedding and fresh water, and conduct individual play sessions with dogs and cats. Be prepared for lots of hard work!
