I found out Eddie Van Halen was using Kramers back then, and figured if they’re good enough for Eddie…..Haha! I never learned to play like him, but I got an awesome guitar in the process. All black; has original Rockinger brass tremolo system - unaltered. Note there are no inlays on the face of fret board. The dots are on top edge of the fret board – only the player can see them…very clean look. This added to the black on black theme. One thing I’ll really miss about this guitar is that once I finish stretching the strings and tuned it, it stays tuned! No modifications were ever done to the body and stock. I replaced the pickups with high end DeMarzios, and installed quality push-pull pots that allow a HUGE variety sounds by giving you the ability to split the coils on the pickups. For example: 1. Just one coil turned on at the neck 2. Just one coil turned on at the bridge 3. One coil turned on at the neck with one turned on at the bridge 4. One turned on at the neck and two turned on at the bridge 5. Two turned on at the neck and one at the bridge 6. Both coils turned on at the neck only (Humbucker) 7. Both coils turned on at the bridge only (Humbucker) 8. Use all four coils turned on both neck and bridge pickups Along with the volume and tone controls I could create any sound to suite any style, from smooth jazz to shredding metal, and everything in between. Create your own killer unique sound that you won’t find anywhere; IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a ‘B’ era Carerra (note the neck plate). Do a search online and you’ll see this is a rare find, especially in this condition. I quit my band in 1986, so it’s been mainly used to pick on and play at home since then. I’ve always been over-the-top about caring for all of my gear, so it’s in EXCELLENT CONDITION. The few scratches or nicks are barely noticeable. So now you know its history and how it was cared for. This kit was purchased in 2009 from Noble & Cooley. The first owner have owned and played it for only 6-7 months. I'm the second owner of the kit. I actually have never set it up and played it at all. The kit has just been sitting in my room the whole time since I got it. I planed to take this kit back home to my country, but just change my mind and will take a DW kit back instead. Anyway, if I can't sell it, I will take both back This is the same kit Noble and Cooley uses on their website to promote the Horizon Reissue Series!  This kit would cost you over well over $3,500 new - if you could find one. The plies were placed horizontally (with the exception of two stabilizing plies) which increases trueness, resonance, and pitch clarity. The results are the Horizons maintain a clear, transparent, pure tone with enhanced attack characteristics, narrow sustain, and controlled decay. These tonal qualities are characteristics of solid shells and are especially good for miking and recording.   These are made from aged Keller Maple/Mahogany shells. The 25/50 model is a distinctive model in the Les Paul lineage for many reasons, including the unique and intricate pearl and abalone "25/50" headstock inlay design, creative use of silver and gold hardware combinations (e.g., the tuners are gold with silver buttons), abalone side dot marker inlays, beautiful flamed maple top, five piece flamed maple neck, split block parallelogram inlays (one of only two Les Paul production models to sport these inlays), large control cavity, gold truss rod cover inscribed with "Les Paul Anniversary", brass nut, and a coil tap mini-switch (one of the few production Les Pauls with a coil tap until the Jimmy Page Les Paul was introduced). The Les Paul 25/50 was available in tobacco sunburst, natural, wine red, and black. Based on the resale market, it appears that tobacco sunburst was predominant, followed by natural. Wine red and black are very rare. There has been a report of a few 25/50s in white. There are photos of a few 25/50s in what appears to be a lighter honey sunburst color, but it could be a lighter tobaccoburst under bright photographic lighting. All 25/50s were made in Gibson's Kalamazoo plant. The regular 8 digit serial number in "YDDDYSSS" format was used on the 25/50 (where "YY" is the year, "DDD" is the day of the year, and "SSS" is the production sequence number, with numbers below 500 used at Kalamazoo). In addition, the 25/50 has a four digit edition number, which presumably gave it that "limited edition" marketing image. The "Made in USA" stamp is also on the back of the headstock. The 25/50 was considered a "special order" guitar, and Gibson ads suggested that all orders had to be completed by December 31, 1978. For original owners, a belt buckle with the "25/50" logo was provided with the guitar. The 25/50 was shipped in a Protector case with red lining. The neck of the 25/50 is of medium to large thickness. Frets are wide and of medium height. The Series VII pickups are powerful. The coil tap allows for a variety of single coil sounds, and makes the 25/50 a versatile guitar sonically. As the Rolling Stone ad suggests, "the 25th Anniversary Les Paul looks like a work of art." It hasn't really been used too much as I usually just ran cables, and it lived in my rack so the unit has been protected. The receiver and transmitter are both in good condition.
