I found out recently that I can open a non profit organization and operate out of my home. I can get dogs from the shelters around the country, have them transported to my home, pay myself a salary - many of you probably don't know that rescue individuals take salaries as long as the books come out non profit meaning you spend all income on one thing or another). Deduct my mortgage, electric, phone, all costs, vet bills etc.and more. And then resell the dogs for $300 to $500 or more, making a profit which will go into my salary. I thought it was a great deal so I wanted to pass it on. I can tell you how to file for one. Its really easy, just think five dogs $300 each is $1500 a month. And there are more ways to cut costs and get more dogs, there is no limit. And no one will check on your facilities! You don't even have to deal with the animals, you can farm them all out to unpaid fosters! Isn't that great! While they are busy cleaning up piss and feces you can sit on your butt all day on C.L flagging any competition. So maybe you should think about it. You can get first pick of dogs from the shelter before anyone comes for adoption, so you will get the more small desirable and healthier dogs than the public. The public can adopt the pit bulls and large dogs with problems or the Animal control can put them down, as they do. So, why should you miss out on a great part time "job"?

2 Beautiful Black Horses for Lease. Mare 7 Years Old. Gelding 8 Years Old.
I need help caring for my horses out in Almaden Valley. They mean the world to me so I am only looking for a loving, gentle horse lover.
They are happy out in pasture but need grooming attention and more time under saddle. They are wonderful horses under saddle but I am not sure how they are on trails.

I am looking for a horse lover who likes to do light riding (no endurance stuff). Someone who loves to brush and groom horses... Someone who just loves to be around horses!!!
Owning a horse is very expensive. This is an opportunity to be around horses without ALL of the costs and expenses of owning a horse.

I would like to find a loving, gentle person who has horse experience but does not need to be an expert.
This person should weigh hopefully under 200 pounds because my gelding has a sore back every now and then... Nothing serious.

Because they are out in pasture, there is NO stall cleaning required :)
The price is negotiable. (Probably $175 monthly)

Please call Nancy at 408-348-1706.
Please only call if you are seriously interested.
Thank You,

Love Pets. Want a easy way to be able to help Bay Area pets? There is a quick easy way to without you having to do any work. Just go onto Bissell's website and vote Tiger Lily MVP. Don't worry it does not cost anything and they will not spam you.

A Vote for Tiger Lily is a Vote for Pets Unlimited Adoption Center

Bissell will give $10,00.00 to the pet charity chosen by the grand prize winner. If Tiger Lily wins, I have chosen that the prize will go to Pets Unlimited Adoption Center.

Tiger Lily was found on the streets in Hayward. Pets Unlimited Adoption Center transferred him to San Francisco before his time ran out in Hayward. Pets Unlimited goes around to other shelters around the Bay Area and bring back pets before they are put to sleep. Once at Pets Unlimited Adoption Center, pets do not have to worry about their time running out at Pets Unlimited Adoption Center. The adoption center does not limit how long a pet can stay until they find their new owner. They will get the vet care and are taken care of while waiting for forever home. There are also volunteer foster parents for pets that need it.

Tiger Lily's foster parents did a terrific job. Tiger Lily is the sweetest cat and I feel very lucky to being his mom. I have been his guardian for almost 2 1/2 years now. He was about four months old when I adopted him. When I went to the shelter, the first thing he did was crawl on my shoulder and started purring in my ear. He had me at first purr. We both fell in love.

Voting cost you nothing and Bissell will not spam you. This is my second year participating in the contest and they have never sent me one email that was not in direct responce to a question that I have sent them or to let me know my entry #.

This week Tiger Lily is # 1000032. Voting starts Friday 03/12/10 and continues to 03/18/10 http://mvp.bissell.com/mvp_PetDetail.aspx?id=8590092775 or http://mvp.bissell.com/mvp_PetIndex.aspx and scroll down & select # 1000032. He is on the first page. .

Next week Tiger Lily is # 1100050. Voting starts Friday 03/19/10 and continues to 03/25/10 http://mvp.bissell.com/mvp_PetDetail.aspx?id=8590117481

Check back each week and do a search for Tiger Lily’s entry that week till the end of the contest. After you can even enter your own pet for next weeks contest. You can vote for as many pets as you want. However you can only vote once for each pet during that voting period.

Please tell everyone you know so he can get more votes and increase his chances of winning and increase the chances that local pets will win also.

Thank you so much.

To all who THINK they know what rescue is you DO NOT!!! Let me tell you what rescue is. You guys think we go to the shelter walk down the rows of dog runs and pull the cutie, nice dog of are chocie.Well let me be the first to tell you IT`S NOT TRUE. When rescue picks up a animal it is becuase the said animal has been made rescue24 statis and for all of you that do not know what that means, I wll tell you they have 24 hours to live!!! I get phone calls everyday from shelters and beleave me its not for happy, healthy, cute animals as you claim. The phone calls we get are sad and depressing. We are the ones that take the animal that has been starved, beaten, stabed, and thrown away like garbage. You seem to think the animals are already spay & nuetered, vaccinated, microchiped your wrong. The city and country shelters are so broke that they only pay for the animal to be fix, microchip and have vaccines once there adopted. We have to pay for everthing from fixing, shots, microchiping, training and any other medical care like surgery, dental ect.. Are adoption fee does not cover everything and we don't make any money like you thing. For all of you who think we as rescue are make are living off the animal your wrong!! We all have full time jobs.Last Saturday I got Phone called and took in a animal for the shelter that has a brooken jaw from his ownner kicking him. Not true at all - it shows your level of being informed and your education. I flag and am not associated with a shelter. It would be nice if you learn how to spell before you post on a public forum.

Just thought people should know that rescues and shelter sit on CL all day and into the night flagging all non shelter dogs and cats. Its there thinking that if only there post remain, you will adopt from them and pay out the ass to do so. Shelters are big money makers. So much that they import dogs from around the country and beyond. Makes you wonder whats really going on!

Methinks the potential adopter knows full well the amount of time, effort and money that goes into adopting not one, but two new cats at once - and the amount of time, effort and money that it will take over the rest of those cats' lives. 6 years ago, I bought my female umbrella cockatoo a friend to keep her occupied while I dealt with some health issues that I suddenly got. They both bonded and kept each other company which was great. A few months ago, they laid two eggs for the first time. They abandoned their eggs, probably because they were both hand raised and were never taught how to rear a baby - although they did figure out how to make one, but that took them 6 years to get it right. The 2nd egg was laid several days after the first one and that was the one that I was able to save. I bought an incubator and a brooder and since I am in and out of my home all day, I was able to feed him every two hours. He is now over one month old and I need to start finding him a home. he probably will not be fully weaned for another 2 or 3 months. He is now at 3 feedings per day with 5 to 6 hours in-between each feeding. You can put a deposit on him and I can wean him for you or if you feel comfortable and confident to wean him, you can take him now. Please e-mail with any questions. Adoption fee is $950. There are 3 pictures of the baby and one picture of his parents. I am not sure if the baby is male or female. A DNA test is the only way to know. Sometimes you can tell with the eye color, but that is not always accurate.

Well, it is with the greatest of sadness that we must find a new, safe, loving home for the smallest member of our family.
My wife has developed allergies and is miserable despite almost daily baths, brushing, etc of Bentley.
He is a very loving pet, house trained, great watch dog, loves to be loved. Very energetic when you want
to play but also content to stair out the window or just lay in your lap.
Money is not an issue but we have found that if you offer a great pet for free then every nut comes
out of the wood work promising to give him a good home. We can't put a value on him but the breeder
we bought him from could and did, $950. We would like anyone considering Bentley for your home
to understand this and be alright with a $300 rehoming fee. Bentley is still all boy meaning he hasn't been fixed.
He is up to date on all his shots. He is pure Yorkshire Terrier, not mixed, but we have misplaced the paper work
to that extent. We have not given him the common Yorkie haircut as he has more character with the longer hair,
but that would be your choice. Of course we do have everything he needs that goes with him, food, bowls,
toys, crate, leash, collar, shampoo. We hope to find his new home today. We are in San Jose off 101 on Oakland rd.
Available until 7pm.
Email only. Give a brief description of why you would like to adopt Bentley and the type of enviroment and life you could offer him.
Anyone with a fenced yard for him to run in would be preferable.
My family took him in temporarily as his past owner was ill and could no longer take care of him, he grew up in the central valley but has adapted well to the city life. We re-named him Country Boy and he answers to his name!

He is pretty chill, kennel trained and appears to be in good health. Approx. 6-7 lbs.

He's vaccines are due and he's not neutered. Will do best with another dog or on his own with plenty of attention and love.

Sweet, happy Goldie needs a short term foster home for a few weeks while she recouperates from surgery. She is now healthy and full of pep again, but she needs a quiet home where she can stay mellow for a few weeks while she recouperates! She is a cuddly, sweet animal who had the bad luck of having pups then ending up stray and dropped off at the pound. There she lingered for 5 months and was the staff favorite, so they kept her alive even when her time was up. Now, thanks to the efforts of the volunteers at The Dog Shack, Goldie has been saved and had all her medical issues treated and fixed. She has no lingering problems and has been given a clean bill of health but needs to stay mellow for a few more weeks . As such, she would love a home as an only dog so she's not tempted to play! Or, perhaps she could share a home with a mellow, male dog?

Goldie is a charming, lovable mixed breed mutt---maybe a Shepherd mixed with Carolina dog?? She is the perfect size at 48lbs, appx 2-3 yrs old, and she is not hyper and listens well. She is crate trained, house trained and just needs a quiet spot to lay her head when you can't be home to give her cuddles and petting! Goldie is not good with cats, but is fine with kids. Goldie will reward you for your kindness by giving you tons of kisses. Fostering Goldie for the Dog Shack is free, as we will cover all costs, including any more unexpected medical expenses. We can even provide food and a crate if needed. Please respond to this posting if you can give Goldie a temporary home with you for a few weeks, and please check with all household members before replying to this post. INCLUDE YOUR PHONE NUMBER, and please be able to drive to SF, Petaluma, Berkeley or San Rafael for a meeting with Goldie on pick-up day. Adoption fee and application apply to permanent adoptions only. Adoption fee of $250 will help us pay for some of Goldie's expensive medical bills, plus cover her spay surgery and get her fully vaccinated! |

My cute black/grey cat needs a new home. I have two cats, one’s 6 years old and the other is 2 years old. The younger one is new to the family. I’ve had him for a year and a half and he’s a cute healthy sweetheart of a cat, but the old one isn’t too fond of him. =/

Toby is a sweetheart and I got tired of seeing him get treated like crap by the old cat, so I figured I should probably find him a nice safe new home where he can live comfortably.
I originally got Toby from a shelter, but I really don’t want to take him back to that tiny shelter cage they had him sitting in, so I figured a CL ad would be best. He’s an indoor cat, and he recently had a check up and his in-door cat shots. I can provide you with copies of his check-up paperwork.

I want to make sure he finds a safe and loving home, so please only reply if you have the means to care for this cat. He’s too sweet to be treated poorly.
Send me an e-mail and we can set up some time for you to come meet him. If I don’t get the time to make copies of his health papers I’ll mail you copies, because I think it’s important that you have them. I plan on being home today (studying) and live in San Francisco, so if you’d like to come meet him today that would work. Any other day is fine too! :)
I wish you all a wonderful day!!

This is Izzy--she is a 7 month old brown tabby and white medium haired female kitten who was rescued from a high-kill shelter in central California. She is absolutely adorable with her big bushy tail, and she loves attention! This girl can't get enough of people petting her--she just throws herself against you and stares at you with a pathetic look if you stop petting her! She would be fabulous with children, and she gets along well with other cats. Izzy has so much personality she would be an amazing addition to any family! She is a little on the chunky side, but don't tell her that--she just loves her kitty food! She's a sturdy, healthy girl just waiting for the right home to come along! She has been tested for feline leukemia virus, dewormed, treated for fleas, vaccinated, vet checked, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $75. If you would like to meet Izzy, please call 707-585-8398. Thank you! |
I am the person who posted that ad for the pups. Im not "selling" these pups for "drug money" as you put it.I dont do drugs and would NEVER "BREED" my animals. I owned the father of the pups and he kept getting out with my neighbors dog, the mother next door and got her pregnant. Our neighbor ended up hitting them with his car one day, and even though he denies seeing them (these are HUGE dogs, no way you cant see them) he says its not his fault, which they shouldnt have been out anyway, but he still intentinally did it. I have seen him try to hit other dogs ON PURPOSE and I have reported him many times. Im not "selling" them either. Im re-homing them with a small adoption fee, which is allowed on this site. I am offering free spay and neuter through my work and 10% off on vaccines. Why would you flag this? Im not charging hundred$$$ like most of the people on here for mutt pups And NO I have never posted ANYTHING on this site before except an Iguana for free and an XOBX. So NO you havent seen this email before. You are a liar! I havent even known about this site until about a month ago! You are just starting crap with genuine people who are trying to find their animals a home. You are one of the attention seekers and want everyone to be on your side. Your like my sisster who makes up lies for no reason just to be in the middle of something. What the hell was I supposidly "selling" on here "earlier this year"??? NOTHING. Im not breaking ANY rules and I have never posted anything on this site ever. Im not a freaking breeder and I havent posted before. So get a life and stop making up shit to suit your fancy. Your an idiot and Im reporting you to the CL board. You are talking shit about me, slandering my name and email and flagging me without reason. Get a life and job. Your preventing these pups from getting homes.

If anyone is interested email bsagato14@yahoo.com for pics of three pups that need new homes. They are 8 weeks old and are healthy and come with 10% off vaccines and free spay/neuter. Thank you. |

Milo was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in his left leg on 9/9/2010 His family could not afford the vet's recommendation of leg amputation, so they had an FHO surgery to clean up the bone and give Milo a false hip joint. They are following up with a k9 immunity treatment and weekly fenthmyl patch for pain. Please reach out to help Milo today as his family is struggling to afford the treatments! They said I would only make it 3 months as of March 9, 2010 I will have made it 6 months. I want to run and play and stay here. I am not ready for the Rainbow Bridge

Its been 2 months, and she still resents the fact that the resident cat (who I had from kittenhood) exists, so I'm afraid she needs a new home

As long as no other cats are around she is calm and sweet and affectionate.

If she had her way she would spend about 20 hours a days sitting quietly on a humans lap.

She is older, partially deaf , and has only a few teeth left. Ideally she should have a low-protein senior cat wet food diet, although she frequently eats the regular dry food intended for my other cat and has no adverse affects from it.
I am currently emergency fostering a Taiwanese rescue dog that is looking for a great home. Currently his name is Oscar (but I think he needs a new name...) Oscar is a: 25lbs, 1 year old, white and gold (with hints of pink), neutered male, mixed Formosan Mountain dog, rescued in Taiwan by Taiwanese rescuers, arrived in SF Tuesday, March 9, 2010, needs foster home or foster-to-adopt home.

Oscar was timid and suspicious at first but warmed up to me completely within the first couple of hours. He's not a jumper, but he will do a 360° turn when he's excited to see you. He's not agressive at all, can be fed by hand and will not fight over treats, food or toys. He's a little bit of a suck-up in that he will climb on your lap if you're sitting on the floor so you can pet him or come up to you and lick your fingers/hand to let you know he's around. He sleeps under that bed at the head and checks on me several times during the night. He doesn't jump on the bed, but stands up on his hind-legs so he can see onto the bed. Oscar is housebroken, very well behaved and (so far) has gotten along well with dogs and children. If Oscar spent any time on the streets of Taiwan, it was measured in hours and days, not weeks or months. He adapted immediately to the house. sits by the backdoor when he wants to go out (and is young enough that he still squats when he pees -lots of opportunity for training).
Formosan Mt dogs are generally shy, shepherd-type dogs who do well with other dogs. They are a “progenitor” breed with characteristic behaviors that change dramatically as they become California-ized. They are athletic, attentive, smart, and will learn another language quickly. |

Okay, so it's been over a week, and this dog is still unclaimed.
It's small, and it poops everywhere.
Apparently, you're not supposed to list everything about the dog, so that someone won't claim it just because it's cute.

Extremely sweet and acts like it lives here.

Although I was thinking of getting another dog, this isn't the one I was thinking of...

If you're missing a small poopy dog from around Cahalan Park, you should email with a description before I spend a lot of money buying it a crate and fixing it, 'cause we're getting attached....

*****************Thank you CL! Cookie has found her new, loving and forever home now. Thank you....****************************

***************************************************************************************************************

This is Cookie. She is a female tan and white Pitbull. She was badly abused by her former owners. She was housed in a kennel for 3 months where she could barely turn round. They wanted to use her for breeding fighting dogs but instead they dumped her into a yard with my neighbor. She took her in and has had her for 6 months. She has become very fond of her new owners but unfortunantly, they cannot keep her any longer. The landlord found out about her and they have no other choice but to find her a new home. I am the neighbor. I have Cookies house mate, a chihuahua female who if also free to a good home. Cookie is a very shy girl, who just needs some more love and attention. She is very shy , but DOES NOT show ANY signs of aggression towards ANYONE or any animal. She just wants love. She enjoys snuggling up next to you and watching t.v. She likes to be RIGHT next to her owners. She likes other dogs and cats. She lives with a cat as well. She is a great dog and loves to tromp around the front yard , bounding like a deer. She is not fixed but is current on vaccines. She will be fixed for free when she has found a new home. I WILL NOT let her go to a new home tht doesnt want her to be fixed for free. She needs someone who will be home all the time. Mabye someone who is retired or who is an elder? She loves people in gerneral. She needs to find a new home soon or the owners will be left with no other choice but to take her to the pound. There, she will for sure be put to sleep. She deserves a chance at a good life. She is the sweetest thing you will ever meet and just needs that one person who will give her some love. Please open your heart and home to a loving pup like Cookie. Thank you for reading.
Thanks to all of you who responded in this time of need, Cookie has found a loving home that is dedicated to rehabilitating her and making her the incredible dog she was destined to be. She will be loved and spoiled and free to run in her new large backyard and sleep in bed with her new owners. She will be the best dog every one knew she would be. I thank you all for your interest and open minds and hearts....you have saved a dog from certain death. Thank you.....she will sleep warmly tonight with a bright future ahead of her.......

I have two precious cats that need a good home because I am moving to a place where I cannot keep them.

Honey is about 8 pounds, long-haired tan female approximately 3 years old. Both are fixed and have had regular veterinarian visits. I Hope someone will take both cats together because they are good friends with each other.

I will bring the cats, 2 cat carriers, 2 easy-to-clean litter boxes (with one cat-door equipped lid), a cat brush, one cat climbing tree (about five feet, six inches tall), collars with magnets for use with electro-magnetic locking cat door, the electro-magnetic cat door itself, whatever litter, food and treats I still have, and a small collection of cat toys, to your home, all for free. The only thing I ask is that they have a happy, safe, cat-friendly home.

**************Just wanted to tell everyone that might be interested in Fred, I will be in Santa Cruz today. I can bring him to meet you. Email me and we can set up a spot to meet. Thanks********************

I'm looking for a good home for Fred. He's a shar pei/Shepard mix who just turned 5 months. He loves the beach, playing fetch and dose very well walking off leash and always comes when called.. He can sit, lay down and shake all for a snack :) I've had him since he was 8 weeks and he has been raised around two small dogs and a cat. He tends to play to rough with the cat though. I also have 3 children One, five and ten, he loves children but I think older children would be best mainly due to his size. He is up to date on his shots including his rabies which is good for a year and i have all the shot records. He also been seen by the vet who says he's a nice and healthy boy. I have spent a little over a $100 on shot already so my re homing fee is half of that. He will come with his leash, collar, food dish, toys and a bag of food he has been eating. But my biggest concern is that Fred finds a good home. If you have another big dog I think that would be awesome for him. If you love to run and spend time outdoors at the beach etc, Then Fred's the man for you. Email me and we can set up a time to meet and you can see him in action :)
