<![CDATA[We're looking for a new housemate in a wonderful share rental in the hills of Fairfax. This is a five person house. There's already one cat here and we can't take any more pets. The cat is wonderful. So here's some more of the picture: We're looking for someone who is kind, conscientious, responsible and fun to live with. This is a drug free house. Some of us drink moderately on occasion. We like to open up the place and throw small-large parties for select friends now and again. We have truly great land-lords. They are simply the best I've had. There are ample opportunities for exquisite wildlife viewing. I've literally seen almost every species of mamal, raptor and bird that is native to Marin on or near this property in the time I've lived here. Additionally there's immediate access to some wonderful hiking trails. This house tends therefore to be very appealing to outdoor/nature enthusiasts. We have a shared kitchen and we now and again will share a meal when the mood strikes us. Our interactions tend to be casual but all of us have a significant interest in consciousness, spirituality and politics. So spontaneous (even deep) conversations are pretty normal. All of us are quite ecologically oriented. That means we use almost exclusively environmentally sound products around the house for cleaning etc. We have a nice washer/dryer and a small amount of storage space in our garage. The room itself is quite large and is on the top floor of the house. The living space itself is 14x13.25 feet with an attached 5x11 foot bathroom and a 9x2 foot closet. The room has a beautiful north facing view out it's window. It's from here that I've done some of the best wildlife viewing when it was my room back in the day. It also has some nice recessed built in shelving in one part of the room. The closet is really nice and has built in shelves and PLENTY of room on 2 lengths of closet rod for all your clothes hanging needs. The bathroom has a tile standup shower and the water gets hot in an instant. It too has the great view out it's little north-facing window. That's a total of 258 a 1/2 square feet of private space to live in and enjoy. We have a million dollar view all over the north part of the house and decks in front and in back. A car is rather integral in order to live here in my opinion. Some of our housemates have proven however that it is not a requirement. The house is at the top of quite a substantial, steep hill. It is one of the steepest longest hills in the county. A trade off for the great views and exquisitely fresh air we breathe up here. We are really looking for someone who gets along well with others and truly wants to live with other people. Maturity, good communication skills, honesty and a genuine willingness to help keep the house a clean, beautiful and warm place to enjoy living in...is a huge plus. So, there you have it. He doesn't mind keeping dirty dishes in his bedroom...isn't bothered by bacteria, has no problem showering with mold and mildew, spits his toothpaste on the bathroom faucet, and doesn't bother to flush the toilet after he takes a piss. The unsanitary guy will only wash his bed linens every 6 months. When he opens his bedroom door, you can smell his bedroom. This guy actually rubbed and played with his bare feet while sitting at the kitchen table, then proceeded to eat his sandwich with his hands. MAMA'S BOY This guy arrives in SF from out-of-state and assumes his mother lives in the house. He needs to be reminded (consistenly) to take out the trash, to mop the kitchen floor, to clean up after himself, and to pay rent and bills on time. The Mama's Boy is immature and unreliable. He works 8 to 5 in the financial district, considers himself a "professional", yet is irresponsible at home. You ask him to do something and, like a child, he runs out to play instead of taking care of business. SELFISH, SELF-ABSORBED PRICK It's all about me, and f**k everyone else. This guy will go on and on talking about himself, yet doesn't care about anyone else. His life is the only important, interesting one. He is utterly uninterested in anything which doesn't affect him directly. He quickly realizes that you aren't worthy of his time, because you don't find his hobbies and career as interesting as he does. The selfish prick will move your things aside, to make space for his things. He likes having a clean, orderly space, but doesn't care if he leaves his trace behind for you to deal with. He slams doors in the house, and doesn't care if everyone's asleep. CREEPY DUDE Everyone tells an occasional lie, but what makes Creepy Dude unique is that he is so accustomed to telling lies, that it's become a part of who he is. He gives false and misleading information. He seems hesitant to answer simple questions, is often evasive (especially about his past). You get the feeling that he's hiding something. He can be creepy to live with because he keeps his door shut 24/7, never wants anyone to enter his room or even look into his room. He asks if he can put a lock on his bedroom door, and often whispers or leaves the house to have phone conversations.
