I am giving away an older laptop computer that is suitable for word processing, but little else. It boots very slowly and the display is serviceable, but not great. No case. The computer probably needs a new battery but has a wall plug. You will not be able to turn around and sell this for a profit, but if you are a writer you can get some meaningful use from it, and I’d rather give it to someone than recycle it. It may have a dial up modem, but I’ve never tried using that (don’t expect to be surfing the net on this machine). I would prefer to give this computer to someone who needs it to work on fiction (but please, no fantasy or sci fi) or a serious non fiction project. If you are interested and clearly understand you should regard this as a word processor only, please describe the project you are working on. We bought them gently used (1 year old), but the original owner had a dog, and there is a slight doggy smell to them, but no waste products, of course. We cleaned them and placed vinyl encasing on the mattresses for the year that we had them. When this happened to another I just spray painted to match room with a high heat paint. They are heavy and may need to be rewired I do not know if they work or not. They are for a 300 watt halogen bulb. I worked for the company that made these so there really is not much to rewiring them. Must take both - they are like ones on website below. So... anyone who'd like them can pick them up. They're in a cardboard box in front of our mailbox that's by the driveway.
