I'd like to learn good breeds, proper housing, feeding and care, and best processing methods. I have a small family and am convinced that rabbit is quite healthy and thrifty. We love sports, and are huge believers in family. We are looking to adopt. We have put alot of thought into race/ethnic heritage and are open to all options. Obviously we would use a lawyer or an agency to go through the process, and if we chose a lawyer we would include counseling for the birth parent. <![CDATA[Good evening. I am a happily married mom of 3 kids, one of whom is in basic training all the way across the country, and I am trying to think of a way to afford to get to her graduation. Although we’re a one-income family, we’re not needy—we have everything we need, and most things we want. But, as I said, we’re a one-income family. My husband works hard to provide for our family, but it barely makes the ends meet; sometimes it doesn’t, and we get behind. I know times are tough or worse for most, if not everyone. Two years ago, I lost the best job I ever had, and have been looking for another one ever since. At first, I was very aggressive about it, but the worse the economy got, and the more and more hundreds of thousands of people that got laid off, the more discouraged I became, until I stopped altogether. The past 2 months, I’ve been looking again, because it seems like things might be a bit better job-wise, although I’m still skeptical about that. I’ve even tried several times to go back to the place I used to work, but they don’t call. I shouldn’t think that they would, considering I once worked there, and now I don’t. I do have a promising prospect for a temporary contract job, but it doesn’t start for several more weeks, and would take several paychecks after to accumulate what I need to make this trip. I am hoping, that in the meantime of me possibly getting this temporary job, that there are several kind souls out there, who might help me with this trip. We’ve thought of every way conceivable to try and come up with enough, but we have no possibilities. I don’t want my ‘child’ to be there with none of her family there for her, while the other soldiers’ families are. I need $700.00. I am willing to do organizing, grocery shopping, meal preparation, editing of computer documents, light cleaning, laundry, prep for yard/garage sales/donation to charity, yard work, any small job that is legal and doesn’t involve ANYTHING sexual/amoral/against my values and principles in nature, in exchange for help with my cause. You might remember her as the woman who was starved/dehydrated too death at the hands of her husband Michael We shall walk for the disabled to let people know that it is NOT ok to murder someone just because they are disabled. Terri was NOT PVS as her husband wants us to believe. Her heart was beating, her lungs were functioning, and she would interact with her family as videos show on www.terrisfight.org The only thing she relied on was a feeding tube which gave her hydration/nutrition. When that was removed, she died 13 days later at the hands of her husband and the courts. We must let the Michael Schiavo's of this world know that it is not ok to starve or dehydrate a person just because they are disabled. This walk will take place at the Starbucks Coffee Shop at Westlake and will go to City hall down 4th Avenue. The walk will start at noon. We realize it must have taken immense courage to decide on the gift of adoption for your baby and choosing a family for the rest of this child's life must not be any easier. Without even knowing you, we are already amazed by your level of responsibility and admire your selflessness. We hope these next words and photos offer you some comfort and direction in your decision. Our Story We would like to share with you about our life and those who are connected to it. We have been happily married for two years now and have been together for a total of seven. We met in high school while volunteering at the Humane Society, and the rest, as the say, is history. We stayed very close and spent the next five years maturing both as people and as a couple. We decided we loved and knew each other as well as two people possibly could and were married in the winter of 2008. We both knew from the start of our relationship that we wanted to be parents, and after two years of marriage, we have decided to pursue that dream. However we did not start off on the usual course. Most adoptive couples spend a couple of years trying to get pregnant with no success, eventually leading them down the road of fertility treatments and in vitro fertilization. The whole process can be emotionally draining and immensely frustrating and in the end, they turn to adoption as a last resort to become parents. There is nothing wrong with that course of action, but it is not how we got here. Our decision to adopt came from our desire to be parents, love a child, and make a difference in someone's life. We haven't tried to become pregnant, because we know that there are many people hoping to find an adoptive family, and we feel it is more important for us to give a home to a needy baby, than to bring one into the world ourselves. We want to adopt, because we want to give our hearts to a wonderful baby, not because it is our last resort. We have tried to adopt before, but unfortunately we were naive and fell into a web of deceit constructed by a group trying to make money, not find homes for children. About Us Now that you know how and why we arrived here in search of you, we thought you might also like to know just a little bit about the two of us as people. We separately wrote a little something about one another and what follows are the results: Brian on Kari- I have never really been the type to believe in love at first sight or in the idea of soul mates but I do believe I experienced something close to both of these things when Kari entered into my life. From the first time we met there has always been something about her which just felt right. Kari is truly one of the most sincere people I have ever met. She is quick to compliment others, and support anyone in need and has a way about her which instantly makes others feel at ease (I think it is her smile). Kari has a big heart and I am personally very excited to see her share it with a child of our own. Kari on Brian- Brian is my rock. He is a loving husband who is strong, supportive, caring, respectful and full of humor and life. When I am sad or exuberantly happy, He is the first person I want to share these moments with. He is extremely talented and wonderful with children (practically raising most of his six brothers and sisters). These characteristics fill my heart with hope and make me believe he will make an exceptional father. Together we enjoy traveling, being outdoors, camping, the movies, watching a range of sports, being artistic, playing music, and spending time with family and friends. We also love volunteering with children and animals. Our life together up to this point has been a truly blessed one, but our vision of the future doesn't feel as if it could possibly be complete without the opportunity to share these adventures & everyday moments with children of our own. Although a used pump may be more affordable than a new one, there are real health implications involved. The practice of re-using single user pumps may be dangerous because some disease organisms are know to be present in the breast milk of infected women. Additionally, if a woman has used the breast pump during an episode of cracked bleeding nipples, blood contamination may have also occurred. Home sterilization methods are not always reliable to ensure the safe destruction of all pathogens especially in the rubber parts such as washers and diaphragms. Some pumps have internal diaphragms that cannot be removed and cleaned or replaced. In addition, even if you get a new collection kit (the part the touches your breast and collects the milk) it may be possible for air-born pathogens or droplets of milk that are not visible to the naked eye to get into a pump motor and cause contamination to the next user. Most single user pumps are "open system" pumps and do not have any protective barrier to prevent cross contamination to multiple users. Many of the diseases that can be found in the milk of infected women are very serious or life threatening. Pathogens like Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis, cytomegalovirus (CMV) and others can be found in the breastmilk of infected women. (Lawrence 94) These diseases frequently go undetected for long periods of time, so even if the former user of the pump is trustworthy and willing to share this personal health information with you, she may not be aware she or her partner are carriers. Though there have not been any documented cases of mothers or babies being infected through the use of a second-hand pump, I don't believe sharing single user pumps is worth even a very small or theoretical risk. Other very difficult to clear fungal infections like candidiasis, more commonly known as yeast or thrush, may also be transmitted. Yeast organisms are very stubborn pathogens that can live on surfaces for long periods. Some lactation consultants will go as far as recommending replacing old pump equipment when working with a mom who has an especially persistent yeast infection because of the difficult in ensuring the complete destruction of the fungus even with careful cleaning. In addition to the health risks of borrowing a pump there are ethical ones as well. I have worked with several moms who purchased or borrowed a used pump from a friend or relative, only to have that pump break or stop operating while they were using it. These moms then felt obligated to purchase a new pump,if it was a borrowed pump, the new pump had to be returned and the mom had spent a lot of extra money that she didn't need to. The approximate cost to formula feed a baby for one year is $2,300.00 , a new breast pump is very reasonable compared to that price. Most breast pumps come with a one year warranty, but this only applies to the original owner, any sharing of the pump negates the warranty. The FDA states "Only FDA cleared, hospital-grade pumps should be used by more than one person." The following pumps are are designed to be used by multiple users: These pumps operate on a "closed system", meaning that it is impossible for milk reach the motor, hence these are safe to be used my multiple mothers. I love children and would like to spend some time helping them learn and grow, however I am really put off by the institutional school environment. I went up to the local public school to see about volunteering and I found the atmosphere to be almost as stifling as I remember it from childhood. So many rules, so many artificial distinctions...bells and whistles and sitting at a desk all day! I have decided to try offering my services as a tutor-at-large for independent learners. I would be happy to help homeschoolers or families that are working to supplement school learning with home learning. I have skills in academic subjects (strongest in language and natural sciences, but willing to work on geometry) and lots of other areas including sewing, cooking, stained glass, gardening, architecture and interior design, naturalism, ceramics and pottery, juggling, dance (plus a little yoga and tumbling), American Sign Language, and attic (ancient) Greek. I would prefer a situation where I got to see the kids for a few hours a week on a regular basis so that we could build up a good relationship.
