Our research group, the Accessibility, Interaction, and Mobility Research Group at the University of Washington is conducting 2 research studies to evaluate new accessible user interfaces for touch screen-based computers and mobile devices. Our goal is to make touch screens usable and accessible to people with a wide range of abilities. We are currently seeking participants for 2 research studies. My HP Pavillion dv6500 flickers back and forth between receiving power and not and doesn't charge at all despite lights indicating it is. Forcing the power cord in a certain direction will make it charge for a bit, that is why I am thinking it is a power jack problem. My Acer Aspire 6920 has a similar issue except it is much easier to get the cord in a certain position to get it to work. So the HP is more of an immediate issue. So if you have the expertise to be able to disassemble a laptop, and solder to remove/reseat/replace a powerjack. Hopefully reseating it will fix it for now.]]>
