<![CDATA[Hi there! I am starting to plan my daughters upcoming birthday party scheduled for June. I have decided to do a fairy tea party themed party at our home. I would like to find 2 women to play the part of fairies. You will need to dress up as a fairy in full costume, and get into your role. Think of it as playing a part of one of the Disney characters at Disneyworld. (: You will need to convince the kids and the adults that you are a fairy, lol watch Tinkerbell a few times and you'll get the idea. You will also need to be creative and good with children. I will have different areas set up, which have still been undecided and one of you will attend to each area. I am thinking we will have one area set up for fairy face painting. In this case, I will buy the set and then you will need to draw the facepaint/glitter on the children attending. (Not sure of exact count yet but should be 8-15 children). Then I will have another area for some sort of fairy related craft that the other person will sit at and assist the children. For example: making a fairy necklace ect. You do not need to dress up as a Disney fairy (but can if you want to). Any general fairy will do. You must be very friendly and good with kids!! This is important. What does it take to Work with Underdog Sports Leagues? - You need to be assertive enough to make calls and confident enough to stand by them. - You need to be good with people and be able to interact with players and fans professionally and calmly even if they are pissed at you. - You need to understand how to hustle and always be in good position. Note: Hustle doesn't mean you need to be quick, fast, and agile or fit. It means you need to hustle. - You need to see sports as fun and entertaining and not an all consuming idea. - You need to be a good ambassador for USL; you are the face of the company. - You need to be able to do all of the above, even if it’s raining and/or cold. - You need to have a general understanding of sports and rules, however, you do not need to be an expert at reffing; we will train you. Hours are mainly on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) but shifts are also available on weeknights every day of the week. The majority of our leagues are in Seattle, while some are located on the Eastside. Training is provided and rules tests and clinics are mandatory. Past reffing is a plus, but only as relevant as your ability to adapt to USL rules. Every ump is required to do 4 hours of game observation for free before formal training begins. Some of our most successful League Officials work full time jobs during the week and work for us for 4 to 16 hours in the evening and on weekends. THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE WHATSOVER. Seeking Artist Submissions for the first Annual Camano Island Jello/Spam Art Show held at Chumleighland in the woods. The mediums themselves are an artistic statement. We are seeking both established and amateur artistes. Of course a lot of entries in this medium are humorous, but we encourage art with serious messages as well. If you doubt that can be done in these mediums then you've never seen simulated broken glass done with jello, or considered the chain of corporate ingredients (both use animal by-products) from feed lot to the marketing to our youth. However, you won't be penalized for hilarity. The show takes place in our genteelly shabby circus tent on our very pretty ten acre venue here on Camano Island. There is no entry fee, and all participants/and partners/family can camp out free for up to three nights during the art show. If you don't have a tent, we can provide one. There's a secluded public access beach nearby. We have a little shower house and an outdoor kitchen for your use. A staid Art Org up here here hosts a very popular Mother's Day Weekend Studio drive-around the island Tour that draws a LOT of tourists and we're smack in the middle of it. If you have art for sale, you'll be welcome to display it in a separate area. We anticpate vibrant walk through traffic all day. We run, amongst other things, the FREE (NO suggested donation or tight gate watcher you have to squeeze past with embarrasment if you're broke) through Summer Outdoor Cinema here (which this art show is basically a benefit for) and get a lot of local support and interest, as well as great press. We are very supportive of the Official Tour, but think the weekend needs a little more humor and alternative energy. We'll be having some workshops, live music and kids activities as well. There is FREE public transit from our street corner south to Everett Station five days a week and six days a week north to Mt. Vernon Station, or from the Amtrak stop in Stanwood. We will provide one complimentary meal to artistes for the opening night party on Friday the 7th and run a complimentary after hours feature films and cartoons from our 16mm collection during the weekend. There will be a food vendor or two selling meals during the show, or you're welcometo use our outdoor kitchen cooking your own. There will be about $500 in cash that will be distributed in various increments, the largest being $100 for overall best of show, and the smallest being $25 for best Kid's entry, along with elegant faux satin award ribbons. There will be a Classical Reproduction Category. This is a family event, but nudes are ok as long as you (and we) feel they'd be ok on display in metropolitan art museums or Forest Lawn. You may submit more than one piece. All art must be either 95% jello or spam, or a mix of the mediums. We will have a cooler for overnite storage of your art if the weather's warm. We also have a special category of Performance Art but remember, if you go the Kipper Kids route with a food fight, you have to clean up after yourselves.
