<![CDATA[Hi, I am increasingly interested in these things and am a creative and innovative person. I don't have a degree in these areas but they matter to me and I want to talk about them. I would like to start a dialog with other people in the Seattle area by email, chat and/or meet at some point for conversation. I have a project in on the table that is inspired by social,community and environmental issues. I want to know what ideas other people may have, what are they learning or what do they think? I'm not good at scheduled meetup groups, that's why I'm inviting people who share this interest to contact me via email and start a dialog and see where it goes. I think that when we find a place where we can communicate and have and exchange of the minds, we learn things that change our thinking, behavior and sometimes our beliefs. This brings about change and change renews the spirit of innovation. The benefit of change is having a different and new perspective and that is what opens the way for innovation and creativity. <![CDATA[I'm a spunky grad student at UW who loves ATS and seeks other belly dancers to start an informal and laid back dance group. Proficiency in Level 2 Fat Chance format preferred, but I'm open to learning new things and sharing what I know. I've been studying belly dance for 5 years, primarily Egyptian cabaret and choreographed performance with Nanna Candelaria when I was living in the Bay Area. Slightly over a year ago, I began taking ATS with Fat Chance Belly Dance before moving back to Seattle in August for school. Currently, I'm taking Level 2 and Level 3 classes at Skin Deep Dance. Dancing has helped keep me sane through the first crazy year of grad school and I'd really like to fine tune my skills by dancing more frequently with others. The purpose of this group would be: • create a regular opportunity to hone our ATS skills outside of formal classroom experience in relaxed dance sessions • foster an environment for creative expression where we can try new things • form friendships in the dance community • gather dancers interested in costume making and going to dance events • possibly form a performance troupe down the road I'm thinking of renting a dance studio at the University Heights Community Center (the Ave and 50th) for one-hour weekly sessions, tentatively Thursdays in the late afternoon/early evening - sometime after 1 p.m. but before 6 p.m. The rental fee is $20 per hour and we would split the cost. I haven't seriously looked into this yet, but I will if people are interested. If you're interested, please reply with a little information about yourself and your dance experience. <![CDATA[The group, called 'Southend gamers' on Yahoo at <a href="http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Southendgamers/?yguid=153926742" rel="nofollow">http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Southendgamers/?yguid=153926742</a>, has been active over five years and has 110 members - a 60/40 mix of men and women, ages ranging from a high of 78 to a low of 20 with an average of 32. With over 175 games to choose from - classics, party, abstract and Eurogames. We do NOT play wargames nor do we play card games (as in poker or Hearts). Game sessions are held on Saturdays and members can arrive anytime after NOON. and may stay till midnight should they choose too. Attending a game session is required at least twice a year to maintain a membership but there are no fees or costs involved. Occasionally game sessions are hosted by other members at their homes. Our average group size is about eight but recent sessions have been as high as twenty and I've had to set a limit at this size. As a member, everyone gets two e-mail notices during the week prior to the session and you have until 5pm on Friday to confirm if you are coming. You should bring your own drink(s) & cash for food and if you have a favorite game, feel free to bring it to introduce to the group. The group newsletter that I produce contains one or two photos of each session that has new members and a brief synopsis of the events and players attending to help members get to know one another better. We are participating members of the Millionminute boardgaming organization which aims to promote gaming within families and we finished in 14th place Nationwide this year. We host an annual potluck barbecue that includes both indoor and outdoor games that have been very popular. Outdoor games include games such as bocce ball, croquet, lawn darts (original!), badminton, bean bag baseball, snake ball and a professional ring toss game. On Fridays, I will notify the group if the session is a no-go. If you are allergic to cats, be warned - I have two. My home is no smoking 'cept outside. <![CDATA[The Meal program was established to provide a warm meal to a group where there may not be one without it. Four YWCA Support Groups are part of this newly established program that hopes community groups will come in and host a meal to a group. By doing so you not only help the families, but also the programs budget, in turn allowing them to accomplish more with what they have. First you gather a group of about 5. Pick days and times that work, and pick a menu. Send me your top 3 dates, and get assigned. Then go shopping, show up the day of, do all the cooking, set all the food out buffet style, serve it up, sit and eat with the families, then clean up and box up leftovers for the families to take. That's it. All done, and then go home knowing you did a really good thing.Our Monday night dinner is for the Domestic Violence group and can only have women participating in the hosting of the dinner. It serves about 35-40 and needs to be ready at 5:45 The Wed. night dinner is for the Young Parent program and has no gender restrictions. About 40-45 and also needs to be ready at 5:45. We have our Sat. lunch program for about 65- no gender restrictions and lunch needs to be ready between 11-11:30. This program enables the community to see an inside glimpse of some of the YWCA programs, and you get to see a direct impact of what you are doing and giving and making a difference to. There is some light leakage near the bottom of the screen, but nothing major. The backlight in use must be quite strong because I can actually feel quite a bit of heat coming from the bottom of the screen. You could bump the brightness down (using Fn + Arrow Down) to level four of seven and still have very comfortable viewing. ]]>

Plus, I just felt more secure getting it straight from Dell. After some hassling with customer service, including them trying to offer me an Inspiron 9400 instead, I finally got them to accept the deal. In the end, I purchased this machine for $1,975 plus tax, which was a great deal in my opinion seeing as how my university offers a measly 12% EPP discount compared to others getting 30-35%. I have yet to price this configuration for less than $2500 despite the several deals Dell has run in the past month. ]]>
