My name is Jennie. I have 12 years of riding experience and have worked with a number of trainers. Most recently I have been studying Mark Rashid's style of horse training and riding. I work with students on creating effective communication between themselves and their horses. Essentially we all want a horse that is going to do what we ask, when we ask, no questions asked, but what we don’t realize is that to create this horse we need to bring certain things to the table so that the horse knows what we want. Most “bad behavior” in horses is created by a horse being confused and getting frustrated, or thinking it is supposed to be doing one thing when you think you’re asking for another. I am looking to correct these communication break downs when they occur and also trying to prevent them from happening. I give lessons in English and Western, and having a working knowledge of cows, gaming, jumping and dressage. I am looking for a few students to teach, at my place or yours. I have two lesson horses, so this is your opportunity to try out horseback riding before you invest in that first horse! Lessons at my place on my horse are $30/hour for a private lesson or $20/hour per person for semi-private (2 people). Lessons on your horse at your place, $30/hour per person. Lessons at my place on your horse, $25/hour.

Send me email or call me at 360-870-0365.

I've been playing drums for about 30 years. I started teaching privately in 1991 just after I graduated from CWU with my degree in Music Performance. Among the many places I've taught in the Seattle area the most notable would be the 4 years that I spent at the Seattle Drum School. I mainly work beginner through intermediate level students.
My emphasis is on technique. I think that if my students are set up the right way from a technical standpoint they will be able to use that technique to play any style of music that they choose.
I teach at Mills Music in Kent, The Rock'n'More Music Academy in Maple Valley, and also at my home studio in East Hill Kent.
Phil Bowden (253)335-8047
TESTIMONIALS:
"Phil is one of the nicest and most professional guys I've ever met. I can always tell when I'm teaching one of Phil's students in our rock band class. They're the one's that I can talk to on a musical level without having to worry that they don't know what I mean. The one's with the well-taught technique that allows their own personal style to come through. Phil's students not only have fun with him but they learn to play in a way that will give them the best chance for whatever amount of success they may strive for." ----Dace Anderson (President of Dace’s Rock’n’More Music Academy)
“I was looking for a drum instructor for my daughter when I stopped in at Hi Ho Music. The lady behind the counter told me you were a great instructor and that your students liked you. I was happy to hear this, so I signed my daughter up for a few lessons thinking we would give this a try and she stayed with you for nearly three wonderful years. My daughter feels strongly that your lessons gave her the ability to interview and get into the Tacoma School of the Arts. She thanks you and I thank you for all you have done for her. I truly believe my daughter is a better musician and person because of you.” Mike Stocke (parent)
“..First great impression, just meeting Phil. He is very patient with students and understands how to reach out for the youngsters to practice and learn their music. Phil knows how to spark the interest in learning by criticizing and praising at the right time. We are very glad to have found Phil as a drumming teacher for our grandson Tyler...” Dörte and Oma-Else (grandparent & great grand parent)
“After taking lessons from Phil for approximately five years, my son Taylor has been compensated for drumming for a number of different venues. Most recently, he was hired by Tacoma Little Theater and required to create the drum accompaniment to 40 different songs in a musical revue. Phil's training in jazz, swing, rock and other styles was very valuable and Taylor received rave reviews from the Musical Director for his expertise. Thanks, Phil!!” Carol Richmond (parent)
“Phil has the gift of teaching in that he knows just the right exercise to show you that makes you sound 10 times better. Also, Phil taught me how to teach myself; how to become an educated, independent musician with all the tools I need to enjoy music as a lifelong journey.” Jason Edwards (former student - currently working as a professional instructor and performer)
HELLO MY NAME IS SAMANTHA TINNED! I RECENTLY JUST MOVED INTO A NEW APARTMENT COMPLEX THAT HAS A VERY NICE BIG GYM, AND WEIGHT ROOM. I AM 20 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE 2 YOUNGER SISTERS AND 3 YOUNGER BROTHERS, I LOVE NOTHING MORE THEN TO PASS MY BLESSINGS DOWN TO THEM, I JUST DONT GET TO SEE THEM AS MUCH AS I WOULD LIKE. I HAVE A PART TIME JOB, AND WITH THE ECONOMY ITS JUST NOT ENOUGH TO GET THE BILLS PAID AROUND HERE, SO THE ONLY OTHER THING I HAVE TO OFFER IS TEACHER YOUNGER KIDS WHAT I DO BEST. I HAVE PLAYED BASKETBALL SINCE I WAS 5 YEARS OLD. I GREW UP IN BELLINGHAM WASHINGTON AND JUST KILLED THE LEAGUES OUT THERE. THE ONLY THING IS ONCE YOU SCORED 16 POINTS YOU WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SHOOT ANYMORE, I WAS DONE SHOOTING IN THE FIRST 8 MINUTES OF THE GAME. SO WHEN I WAS FINISHED WITH MIDDLE SCHOOL I MOVED TO SEATTLE, TO ATTEND GARFIELD HIGH SCHOOL. BOY WAS THAT A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE! I WAS REALLY NERVOUS AND DIDNT TALK TO MUCH TO ANYBODY, AS A FRESHMAN I STARTED VARSITY AND WE GOT 3RD PLACE AT STATE, I DIDNT LIKE TO SHOOT MUCH BECAUSE I DIDNT WANT ANYBODY MAD AT ME, SO I LEAD THE TOURNAMENT IN REBOUNDING. MY SOPHMORE YEAR WE LOST IN THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TO ROOSEVELT, BUT I WAS NAMED STATE MVP. MY JUNIOR YEAR WE WON THE WHOLE THING, AND AGAIN I WAS NAMED MVP. A LOT WAS GOING ON IN MY LIFE WITH MY FAMILY, THAT I PREFER NOT TO TALK ABOUT OVER CRAIGSLIST. BUT YOU ARE WELCOME TO LOOK MY NAME UP ON GOOGLE, BUT I WAS FORCED TO MOVE TO TACOMA FOR MY SENIOR YEAR AND START OVER. I STILL PLAYED AND STARTED VARSITY BUT IT WAS JUST HORRIBLE. AFTER GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL I DID NOT HAVE THE GRADES TO GO DIVISON 1, I WAS THE MOST RECRUITED PLAYER IN THE STATE SO I KNOW HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO BE FOCUSED ON YOUR GRADES, ANOTHER KEY THING I CAN TEACH THE YOUNGSTERS! I WENT TO HIGHLINE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, AND GOT MVP OF THE LEAGUE AND HIGHLINE NEVER WENT TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES AND WE WENT THERE AND TOOK 5TH PLACE. I THEN TRANSFERED TO A TOP RANKED JUNIOR COLLEGE IN IDAHO AND REDSHIRTED THERE, AND JUST PRACTICED BECAUSE I HAD TO WAIT A SEMESTER TO PLAY SINCE I TRANSFERED, I DECIDED NOT TO PLAY, JUST TO SAVE MY YEAR. SO NOW I AM TAKING CLASSES TO FINISH MY ASSOCIATES DEGREE SO I CAN TRANSFER TO A DIVISON 1 SCHOOL AND PLAY MY REMAINING YEARS THERE. I FEEL THAT I HAVE A LOT TO OFFER AND I KNOW WHAT IT TAKES. IVE PLAYED WITH SHELIA LAMBERT(WHO HAS A WNBA CHAMPIONSHIP WITH DETROIT) AND IVE PALYED AGAINST THE UW GIRLS TEAM, AND SCORED 24 POINTS ON THEM.

WRITE ME A EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS, LIKE I SAID IM A STRUGGLING COLLEGE STUDENT AND ANYTHING HELPS.

Hello. I am a guitar teacher with a Bachelor Degree in Jazz from the world renowned CCM conservatory. Though I was trained in jazz improvisation, my musical interests are wide ranging. I have recorded and toured throughout the world as a member of the up and coming band why? (anticon records), which (if you have heard them) is about as far from my jazz background as you can get. I have also studied classical guitar with the respected virtuoso Michael Partington here in seattle. Still, I must to say my true loves are Neil Young, John Fahey, and the Band. But I still love Radiohead, Deerhoof, Joanna Newsom, the Velvet Underground, and many others.
I have been teaching guitar for over ten years now. Having done so, I feel that this is a strength in itself. It took me many years to know what the REAL fundamentals of playing guitar are, how to demonstrate them clearly, and where to start. Many great players still don't make the best teachers. I try and fill both roles. My hope is to bring out the unique musical personality in each of my students by providing them the inspiration, knowledge, and patience it requires to learn any instrument. That being said, I tend to focus the lessons on three areas: technique, learning songs, and sight reading. THESE LESSONS ARE ABOUT SEEING RESULTS. I require my students to practice a minimum of 30 minutes a day. If they stick with this routine, results are soon obvious.
Please give me a call and we will talk about your goals and discuss a schedule. I have numerous references available. I require my students to take weekly lessons and charge $20 for 30 minutes, $35/hour, $25-40 at your home (schedule permitting). You can listen to some of my playing at http://myspace.com/matthewmeldon then feel free to give me a call at (206)306-4745. Ever wonder how the pro's hit the ball so consistent and far? Well aside from being very talented, which most are, they perform their swings and throwing more closely to natural biomechanics and the laws of physics than most. How do they know to do this when the rest of us don't, or are being taught not to? Easily, they've been doing it their entire life. This is what their body tells them to do, and actually to a lesser extent, what our bodies were telling us to do when we played. Our bodies have natural movements in anything we do. Hitting and throwing a baseball are not exceptions to this rule. And they should not be corrected to counter the laws of physics and natural biomechanics of the body.

Throwing is a natural body movement, and pitching is no different. My college coach once told me that the arm slot of a player should be determined by him/her going out to the lake and throwing a rock without thinking about it. How true is that statement! But, how many times have you and I seen a pitching instructor spend countless hours talking about a pitcher's arm slot, or changing what is natural to that player. Now, this is not to say that players don't need to be instructed, but I would bet that almost 100% of those needing instruction on their arm slot are doing something wrong way before the arm is coming forward. Our main philosophy is to move the large body segments fast. This will increase arm speed, which will increase pitching velocity.

Go to http://www.betterbaseballplayer.com and look at our systems in more detail. We are confident you’ll find our information is at the forefront of baseball knowledge. As a former college coach and professional player, you won't find a more qualified instructor. Contact Adam or Goli at (888) 899-1925

Hey,

I am a professional math tutor who has helped over 75 students over the last couple of years. Many of my students have achieved beyond what they ever thought possible. Some recent students have gone from failing to getting A's on tests in as little as two sessions. Most of my students from the 2007-2008 school year achieved A's in their math courses for the entire year. My tutoring style is aggressive; I am constantly analyzing what a student does and doesn't understand, using my mastery of the material to devise problems that facilitate understanding in weak areas. I am a tutor that truly has a passion for the art of teaching. Many of my students have said that two hours with me is better than a whole week in a high school math class.

I travel to students homes or preferred location. Subjects that I teach include: pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Math Analysis, Trigonometry, pre-Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, SAT I, SAT II Math, CBEST, ISEE, CHASEE, CHSPE, GRE, and the GMAT.

Thanks a lot and can’t wait to hear from you!
Adam
(888) 899-1925

Testimonials

“I cannot emphasize enough how exceptional of a tutor Adam is. I am in my junior year of college and have dreaded math my entire educational career. I have been working with Adam for four months in preparation to take the math course required for college graduation. When I began working with Adam I literally was relearning fractions and basic algebra. I was planning to test into College Algebra, the lowest level course to fulfill the requirement I need for my degree, but after my wonderful experience with Adam I will be testing into Calculus! Adam has a remarkable style that makes even the most difficult of problems simple and fun to understand. His enthusiasm and natural gift for teaching has turned me from an easily frustrated, math-loathing student into one who truly enjoys and looks forward to progressing in mathematics. Trust me, you will be doing yourself a huge favor by choosing to work with Adam. Your brain and patience will thank you.”

Preston, College Student

“Adam is truly a miracle worker. My daughter is a sophomore in a private school with a very rigorous curriculum. She has always struggled in math and had anxiety every time she had a test. After the first quarter this year I received a letter from her teacher that she was failing math. I was very fortunate to find Adam and after speaking with him on the phone I could tell he had a real concern for teaching students such as my daughter. He emphasized his passion for tutoring math and that he thought math was so much fun. My daughter was having her final exam in Algebra 2 the following day and worked with Adam for two hours. When he left he assured me that my daughter would get an A on the exam. Of course, I was very skeptical, especially having had other tutors work with her in the past and never receiving the desired results. That night I could see that she was feeling more confident and sure enough she came home the following day so excited that she did get an A on the test. Adam knows how to connect with students. He has the ability to turn something that my daughter thought was impossible into making her a success. Words cannot express my appreciation to him for not only teaching her in a way she could understand, but also giving her the tools she needed to continue to succeed. He really cared about her and even called the following day to speak to her. I honestly don’t know how he accomplished so much with my daughter in so little time except that he has a very special gift.”

Wendy Wyatt, Mother

“Adam is a truly excellent tutor. His eager and charismatic personality always kept me engaged even if the material was boring or difficult. He made sure I knew how to do a problem in multiple ways, including how to check my work on a calculator which proved to be incredibly useful. During the final 6 weeks of school, my grade raised from a C+ to an A- in Calculus which would have never been possible without his help. Adam is easily the best tutor I have ever had, and because of him I actually started enjoying math class.”

Mackenzie, High School Calculus Student

“I hired Adam to perform a nearly impossible task: to teach math to my son, then in college, who had not completed a math class since the seventh grade due to severe illness. Starting in August, Adam had to bring my son to a point where he could test into his grade level (then a sophomore in college) which would allow him to take and succeed in the required math classes to qualify for transfer to a major four-year university in California: all in 6 months. My son did test well enough to take both Pre-Calculus and Statistics in the Spring semester and I am proud to say that with Adam’s continued help he earned a B and an A in those classes. I cannot recommend Adam highly enough.”

Phil, Father of College Student

“I can’t even begin to describe how amazing Adam is. He was such a blessing in my life. I had taken College Algebra twice in school and was never able to make a passing grade. On my third try, I decided to get a tutor. I went through three private tutors before finding Adam. I wasted hundreds of dollars on tutors who didn’t have a clue what they were doing! Feeling hopeless, I decided to give it one last try. It was then that I found Adam. In the end, he was able to take me from an F to a C+ in just two weeks. His ability to explain, what seemed to me like a foreign language, was incredible! He was able to recognize both my weaknesses and my strengths. He never allowed me to feel stupid; instead he encouraged me throughout the entire process. His easy-going personality made the whole process seem like I was meeting with an old friend; not a tutor. Words can’t explain the gratitude I feel for him. Adam Wes is amazing!”

Brie, Algebra Student

“Wow! A whole letter grade, my son improved a whole letter grade within 3 months no doubt as a result of Adam Wes' magic. My son was struggling and had fallen so far behind in class that understandably he had given up completely and had lost any desire to try. That is until we fortuitously came across Adam's advertisement of tutoring assistance. With intensive and very productive sessions with Adam my son now has a solid command of the subject area of Geometry but more importantly has built up his self-confidence. It has gotten to the point that even though my son understands the subject matter he still prefers to meet up with Adam on a regular basis. Adam's way of connecting with my son, identifying his weaknesses and working around them were truly instrumental in the successes that we continue to see. Who would have thought I would see the day that my son actually tells me he is looking forward to school and that spring break was too long. Go figure. Please do not hesitate to contact me through Adam if you have any questions or concerns.”

Darren Takeuchi, M.D., Father

“Adam is an excellent tutor! By continually analyzing my understanding, Adam developed a method to best teach me. Every session he inspired me to learn more and kept me excited about the whole process. Adam also has an unending supply of math tricks which like to call “Scooby Snacks”, they are so helpful. I don’t know what I would do without Adam.”

Adrianna, Trigonometry Student

“We are so lucky to have found Adam. With Adam’s committed, creative, and engaging personality Mitchell’s grades raised from a D to a B+ in Physics and from a C to an A in Pre Calculus in just six weeks. He was truly a great tutor for my son.”

Linda Sendowski, Mother

“No matter how smart your child may be, there will come a time when they need help. My son’s academic career has been stellar. He was considered part of the local “brain trust” in our neighborhood schools, then came high school. It is a difficult adjustment period for many students and thus his grades dropped, drastically. More to the point, he went from having the highest grade I the class to an –F- (36). He had previously worked with a tutor on stretching exercises, that helped him get ahead and thus I relied on him in my son’s time of need. What a mistake. He made no progress and continued to flounder in his Honors Algebra 2A class. In came Adam Wes, wow what a difference! Adam took the time to connect with my son and kept him interested in the subject matter. He was extremely reliable and always made himself available to answer questions for him. As a result, while many other students failed the class, Kyle finished with an A (92). He turned his grade around dramatically in three months! I credit this to his amazing tutor. I highly recommend Adam and would not hesitate to employ again.”

Cheryl Schmidt Savitt

“Adam is a phenomenal tutor. He is one of the few people who has the natural gift of teaching. He is intelligent, clear and engaging. He not only inspires me to learn, but he makes each session enjoyable and exciting. If asked, I would strongly suggest that he pursue a career in education. But what is most impressive is that Adam took me from a person who had not opened a math book in almost eight years to someone who was so successful on the placement exam that I have placed into the highest math level offered. I have not only reached my goals, I have surpassed them. And this is all thanks to Adam.”

Rebecca, Pre-Med Student
