Many of my students have achieved success beyond what they ever thought possible. Numerous students have gone from failing, to getting A's on tests, in as little as two sessions. The majority of my students from the 2008-2009 school year achieved A's in their math and science courses. My love and passion for tutoring has grown into a nationally recognized tutoring company in which I have further perfected my methods and helped pass them on to others.

My tutoring style is aggressive; I am constantly analyzing what a student does and doesn't understand, using my mastery of the material to devise questions that facilitate understanding in weak areas. I am a tutor that truly has a passion for the art of teaching. My daughter is a sophomore in a private school with a very rigorous curriculum. She has always struggled in math and had anxiety every time she had a test. After the first quarter this year I received a letter from her teacher that she was failing math. I was very fortunate to find Adam and after speaking with him on the phone I could tell he had a real concern for teaching students such as my daughter. He emphasized his passion for tutoring math and that he thought math was so much fun. My daughter was having her final exam in Algebra 2 the following day and worked with Adam for two hours. When he left he assured me that my daughter would get an A on the exam. Of course, I was very skeptical, especially having had other tutors work with her in the past and never receiving the desired results. That night I could see that she was feeling more confident and sure enough she came home the following day so excited that she did get an A on the test. Adam knows how to connect with students. He has the ability to turn something that my daughter thought was impossible into making her a success. Words cannot express my appreciation to him for not only teaching her in a way she could understand, but also giving her the tools she needed to continue to succeed. He really cared about her and even called the following day to speak to her. I honestly don't know how he accomplished so much with my daughter in so little time except that he has a very special gift."

Nicolle Wyatt, Mother of Viewpoint H.S. Algebra II Student

"I found out about Adam because my little sister was using him as a geometry tutor. When I began struggling in AP Calculus my mom suggested I use Adam. I had no idea it was possible to tutor math all the way from geometry to calculus but in my first session with Adam I officially decided that he was not only the best tutor I had ever had but also the smartest person I had ever met. Every single question I asked him he knew the answer to and every single problem I showed him he could solve. Since I began using Adam my test scores have gone up significantly. He was so helpful that I also recommended him to my best friend who has also seen a significant increase in her test results. Adam has an extreme knowledge of all levels of math and is genuinely interested in helping everyone who he tutors not only improve their grades but also truly understand the material. I would highly recommend Adam to anyone who needs help with any level of math."

Alex Duhl, AP Calculus Student at Brentwood H.S.

"I hired Adam to perform a nearly impossible task: to teach math to my son, then in college, who had not completed a math class since the seventh grade due to severe illness. Starting in August, Adam had to bring my son to a point where he could test into his grade level (then a sophomore in college) which would allow him to take and succeed in the required math classes to qualify for transfer to a major four-year university in California: all in 6 months. My son did test well enough to take both Pre-Calculus and Statistics in the Spring semester and I am proud to say that with Adam's continued help he earned a B and an A in those classes. I cannot recommend Adam highly enough."

Phil Ames, Father of University of Southern California College Placement Exam Applicant

"Adam is a phenomenal tutor. He is one of the few people who has the natural gift of teaching. He is intelligent, clear and engaging. He not only inspires me to learn, but he makes each session enjoyable and exciting. If asked, I would strongly suggest that he pursue a career in education. But what is most impressive is that Adam took me from a person who had not opened a math book in almost eight years to someone who was so successful on the placement exam that I have placed into the highest math level offered. I have not only reached my goals, I have surpassed them. And this is all thanks to Adam."

Rebecca Hersh-Boyle, Pre-Med Student

"Adam was a truly excellent tutor. His eager and charismatic personality always kept me engaged even if the material was boring or difficult. He made sure I knew how to do a problem in multiple ways, including how to check my work on a calculator which proved to be incredibly useful. During the final 6 weeks of school, my grade raised from a C+ to an A- in calculus which would have never been possible without his help. He is easily the best tutor I have ever had, and because of him I actually started enjoying math class."

Mackenzie, senior calculus student at Marymount High School

"We are so lucky to have found Adam. With his committed, creative and engaging personality, Mitchell's grades raised from a D to a B+ in physics and from a C to an A in pre-calculus in just six weeks. He was truly a great tutor for my son."

Linda S., mother of a senior at Milken Community High School

"I can't even begin to describe how amazing Adam is. He was such a blessing in my life. I had taken college algebra twice in school and was never able to make a passing grade. On my third try, I decided to get a tutor. I went through three private tutors before finding Adam. I wasted hundreds of dollars on tutors who didn't have a clue what they were doing! Feeling hopeless, I decided to give it one last try. It was then that I found Adam. In the end, he was able to take me from an F to a C+ in just two weeks. His ability to explain, what seemed to me like a foreign language, was incredible! He was able to recognize both my weaknesses and my strengths. He never allowed me to feel stupid; instead he encouraged me throughout the entire process. His easy-going personality made the whole process seem like I was meeting with an old friend, not a tutor. Words can't explain the gratitude I feel for him. Adam is amazing!"

Brie, algebra student preparing for college placement exam

"Adam was an excellent tutor! By continually analyzing my understanding, he developed a method to best teach me. Every session he inspired me to learn more and kept me excited about the whole process. He also has an unending supply of math tricks; they are so helpful. I don't know what I would do without him."

Adrianna, professional studying trigonometry for career enrichment

Dear Adam

Aidan received his AP test results yesterday and scored a [perfect] 5! We are so delighted with his performance and the savvy way you worked with him this past school year. We found your personable style, consistent encouragement and strategic thinking to be a tremendous asset in building Aidan's skills, confidence and ultimately his abilities in Calculus. Working in the house on our schedule was invaluable for our busy lives too. The whole family would highly recommend you as a tutor to anyone who needed help in math. Aidan has a natural gift in this arena but is often scattered and unwilling to do his work. We saw a real shift in his approach, attitude and performance; and so appreciated the firm but friendly way you interacted with him. It's not easy to work with teens and you have a real knack! Richard and I thank you as does Aidan - know that you helped our son in a big way and helped launch him into a deeper exploration of math. We will keep you posted on his progress at Evergreen.

Warm regards
Kathleen (Mother of Venice H.S. AP Calculus Student)

"I cannot emphasize enough how exceptional Adam is. I am in my junior year of college and have dreaded math my entire educational career. I have been working with Adam for four months in preparation to take the math course required for college graduation. When I began working with him I literally was relearning fractions and basic algebra. I was planning to test into college algebra, the lowest level course to fulfill the requirement I need for my degree, but after my wonderful experience with him I will be testing into calculus! He has a remarkable style that makes even the most difficult of problems simple and fun to understand. His enthusiasm and natural gift for teaching has turned me from an easily frustrated, math-loathing student into one who truly enjoys and looks forward to progressing in mathematics. Trust me, you will be doing yourself a huge favor by choosing to work with Adam. Your brain and patience will thank you."

Preston, student preparing for college placement exam

Exceptional GMAT/GRE Teacher: Please contact me via email at :

• I have a decade of formal teaching experience. I taught math and physics at a Boston high school for five years and I had exceptional success with my students; I feel that this is primarily attributed to my love of teaching. I went back to school to earn an MBA and I graduated with high honors and earned an assistantship to do a master of mathematical finance degree during which time I became a CFA institute scholar.

• Most importantly, I have taught the math section of the GMAT and GRE for the past five years and my students have found impressive success. Many of my students have expressed to me that after their time with me, they truly understood math for the first time and that they saw these exams in a different, positive light.

• I understand that the math on the GMAT and GRE can seem daunting, however I employ an individualized and systematic approach that will allow you to progressively master the necessary math topics. You will be able to learn the material and you will be able to employ your knowledge come test day. I will stand behind you 110% and do all that I can to facilitate your learning and score improvements.

• In addition to using the Official Guides, I have an original GMAT/GRE math curriculum of close to 2000 self-produced math problems. These problems are categorized by topics such as rates, unit conversions, work, and percents. During our lessons together, I will show you the most important skills and methods for a particular topic. We will use specific problems as case studies to transform your knowledge and the way that you think about these problems. Then, after each lesson, I provide you with a specific homework assignment to work on. This assignment will allow you to solidify what you learned during our lesson. At the beginning on the next lesson, we typically spend about 15 minutes going over any homework problems that gave you a hard time. The process is very strategic and our ultimate goal is to strengthen your weaknesses and to polish your strengths until they are second nature.

• At each step of the process, I use a variety of diagnostic tests and tools to track your progress so we always know where you stand and we can track your improvement and pinpoint your areas of need. In addition, during our time together, you can call me or email me at any time. I am here to help you succeed. Everything that we do together is built upon what you need at that time and how you learn best. I think that you will find this to be the best educational investment that you have ever made.

Please contact me via email. My schedule fills up quickly and in the event that I am fully committed, I would be happy to recommend another outstanding tutor who will be well-suited to your individual GMAT or GRE needs. In addition, although it is not my specialty, I can recommend an outstanding verbal tutor for the GMAT or the GRE.

I wish you all the best and I hope that we will be able to work together!!!

================================================================================================================================

yjtf85d774r87r9

Flowers never emit so sweet and strong a fragrance as before a storm. I tutor high school precalculus, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, and physics. I have a Master's degree in Math from the UW and a Bachelor's degree in Physics and Math from the UW. My tutoring is very interactive and emphasizes understanding of the material over test prep. Because of my knowledge of the material and my 20+ years as a staff tutor at the UW, I am able to give thorough explanations of answers to questions and alternate explanations. I then ask questions to make sure students understand my explanation and to pinpoint what students are having trouble with.

Doug Oien

Phil Bowden (253)335-8047
TESTIMONIALS:
"Phil is one of the nicest and most professional guys I've ever met. I can always tell when I'm teaching one of Phil's students in our rock band class. They're the one's that I can talk to on a musical level without having to worry that they don't know what I mean. The one's with the well-taught technique that allows their own personal style to come through. Phil's students not only have fun with him but they learn to play in a way that will give them the best chance for whatever amount of success they may strive for." ----Dace Anderson (President of Dace’s Rock’n’More Music Academy)
“I was looking for a drum instructor for my daughter when I stopped in at Hi Ho Music. The lady behind the counter told me you were a great instructor and that your students liked you. I was happy to hear this, so I signed my daughter up for a few lessons thinking we would give this a try and she stayed with you for nearly three wonderful years. My daughter feels strongly that your lessons gave her the ability to interview and get into the Tacoma School of the Arts. She thanks you and I thank you for all you have done for her. I truly believe my daughter is a better musician and person because of you.†Mike Stocke (parent)
“..First great impression, just meeting Phil. He is very patient with students and understands how to reach out for the youngsters to practice and learn their music. Phil knows how to spark the interest in learning by criticizing and praising at the right time. We are very glad to have found Phil as a drumming teacher for our grandson Tyler...†Dörte and Oma-Else (grandparent & great grand parent)
“After taking lessons from Phil for approximately five years, my son Taylor has been compensated for drumming for a number of different venues. Most recently, he was hired by Tacoma Little Theater and required to create the drum accompaniment to 40 different songs in a musical revue. Phil's training in jazz, swing, rock and other styles was very valuable and Taylor received rave reviews from the Musical Director for his expertise. Thanks, Phil!!†Carol Richmond (parent)
“Phil has the gift of teaching in that he knows just the right exercise to show you that makes you sound 10 times better. Also, Phil taught me how to teach myself; how to become an educated, independent musician with all the tools I need to enjoy music as a lifelong journey.†Jason Edwards (former student - currently working as a professional instructor and performer)
I got a phone call yesterday informing me of my acceptance. The admissions director said he really liked the essay you helped me with and I think that the essay played a huge role in persuading the admissions committee to take me. Application deadline for most places is March 1st and apps are about $80 each. I planned on applying to about 20 schools, so I not only just saved some money, but also the time to fill out apps and waiting to hear back.

"Adam is truly a miracle worker.

Exceptional GMAT/GRE Teacher :
• I have a decade of formal teaching experience, including five years of math and science instruction at a Boston high school where I enjoyed exceptional success with my students. When you love to teach, you do it well. I then went on to earn my MBA, graduating with high honors. I was then awarded an assistantship as I worked on an MA in mathematical finance, during which time I became a CFA institute scholar.

• For the past five years, I have tutored students specifically in the math sections of GMAT and GRE and done so with stunning success. My students often remark that they’ve understood difficult math concepts for the first time and find themselves taking their tests with new found confidence.

• Though the math required on the GMAT and GRE may seem daunting, my systematic approach will allow you to progressively master the material. By tailoring that approach to your individual needs, we will make sure that issues that cause you problems become strengths rather than weaknesses, so that, come test day, you’ll be able to employ your knowledge and achieve your desired score.

• In addition to using the Official Guides, I have an original GMAT/GRE math curriculum of close to 2000 self-produced math problems. These problems are categorized by topics such as rates, unit conversions, work, and percents. During our lessons, we will use specific problems as case studies to transform your knowledge about and approach to these problems. Specific, extensive homework assignments will follow each lesson so that you solidify what you’ve learned. Difficulties encountered in the homework will then be addressed at the beginning of the next lesson. The whole process is designed to strengthen your weaknesses and polish your strengths until accurate performance becomes second nature.

• A variety of diagnostic tests and tools will be used to track your progress so we always know where you stand and can track your improvement, while further pinpointing your areas of need. In addition, during our time together, you can call or email me at any time. I am here to help you succeed. Everything we do together will be built upon what you need at that time and how you learn best. I think you will find this to be the best educational investment you have ever made.

Please contact me via email. My schedule fills up quickly.

In addition, although it is not my specialty, I can recommend an outstanding verbal tutor for the GMAT or the GRE.

I wish you all the best, and I hope that we will be able to work together!!!

================================================================================================================================
jkfhuwsy38jds

The Church does not superstitiously observe days, merely as days, but as memorials of important facts. In 2009, I had six students get a 180 on the LSAT - no other tutor on Craigslist can say the same.

I do these sessions over the internet using a free service called Skype from Harvard. Please e-mail me for details about this. As to my fee, personal checks are always fine (I pay my taxes). Just mail it right to me in Massachusetts.

LSAT success is always the deciding factor in your law school application! Don't settle - hire an expert.

The Logic Games are only worth between 23-25% of the LSAT, but they are easy points that will boost your score a ton!

Logic Games Success is easy to get if you know what to do, and my system will make you fast, efficient, confident, and accurate.

The Logic Games Mastery session I run covers every type of logic game, every type of question, every helpful sketch, and every expert strategy. After just one session with me, you will see a dramatic improvement. The fee for this session is $675, and it is the only session you will ever need.
