At around 10pm on 3/15/10, our new cat got spooked and jumped from the second story of our town house on 19th and E. Fir in Seattle. We had just brought him home two days earlier. His name is Winston though he may not respond to that name. His name before then was Clooney. He is a 2 year old golden tabby with stripes and brilliant gold eyes. He is very friendly and likes people and cats. I last saw him Monday evening- after trying to coax him back towards the front door of my house, he ran into the parking lot of the Tolliver Temple Church and disappeared. We are very worried about him. If you have seen him please reply by email to this post. At least let us know if he is safe.

I woke up this morning to find my male flowerhorn had mysteriously died at some point in the evening. The female, who was its' mate, is perfectly fine and healthy other than the fact she's noticably lonely. So, in short, I'm looking for another male. I dont need the best of the best, I just want it to be around 5'' long and for it to definitly be a male. I have much to offer in trade; other fish, electronics, or I will pay cash if its resonably priced. Im not paying 150 for a fish. E-mail, call or text 3609900949.
I have a 4 month old male guinea pig that needs a new home. He is the sweetest little guy and has never bit. He is white with brown patches... therefore we named him Patches. He needs to find a new home because our apartment manager is a idiot. My kids love him and really want to keep him but we can't unfortunetly. I spent $175 on everything for him. I would like him to go to a nice home with kids over 6 years old and the rehomeing fee is $75. With everything( cage, igloo, tunnel, water bottle, food dish, wood chew sticks, vegtable ball, salt lick, carrot chews, yougurt snacks, bedding, alphalfa, pellets, vitiamin c drops plus huge container of veggies) and Patches.

Anyways if you are interested please email..

P.S. Guinea pigs make great starter pets, they live 5-8 years and they rarely ever bite. They are easy to care for and love attention.

FOSTER!!! Volunteer for the Humane Society, your local shelter, or rescue groups…they need people that can take animals into their home for a short period of time until space opens up for that animal or they are become more socialized (and more adoptable). That way you can try out a variety of sizes and breeds…and if you don’t have time one week or are too stressed by other committments, you just won’t taken in an animal for that period of time...and can go back when you’re ready again. I used to foster cats for the Humane Society and I loved it (even when it was hard to give the kitty back when they were ready for adoption). PLEASE, if you're not ready to fully commit to animal ownership (and all of the responsibilities that come with that opportunity), do NOT bring an animal into your life that you would get rid of at the drop of a hat. Most of the pets posting on CL make me want to vomit...and depressed that there are that many selfish, horrible people in this world.

IN YOUR AD YOU SAY: We really dont want to get rid of her, but just got restationed out of state and feel its better to find a new home for her then torture her with a trip across country

I AM TOTALLY CONFUSED: We were stationed at Fort Lewis when we got orders for the east coast. When we moved it include our 6 kids, the 6 year old girl we were legal guardians to, our 2 dogs and 3 cats, my 6 foot boa constrictor along with some feeder mice and my 1100 pound horse. WE ALL MOVED! None of my kids and none of my pets suffered 'torture' by being moved corss country.

DID YOU KNOW THAT ONLY 1 out of 12 cat ever finds their forever home? Now you're throwing your cat into that equation.

I'VE GOT NEWS FOR YOU: Moving with your pets is as easy (or even easier) than moving with your kdis!

AS FOR THE ADDITIONAL EXPENSE OF MOVING WITH PETS: Just have a couple yard sales each year and set the money aside for 'pet moving expenses.' It's that simple....and you say you don't want to 'torture' you pet by moving it? So it's better off being given off to total strangers and a future where you'll never know what becomes of your beloved pet? I DON'T THINK SO!!

Calico cat needs a new home! We really dont want to get rid of her, but just got restationed out of state and feel its better to find a new home for her then torture her with a trip across country. She is a very loving cat, likes to cuddle, and is friendly with kids. Other anmials are questionable. She's very sketchy at first when she's around other animals, she's been around other cats and dogs but not for long periods of time. Her name is Boots, and knows her name well. She is a year and a half old, and is a calico cat. She is licensed, up to date on shots, and spayed. I have paperwork I can also give you.

She will come with Food, food scoop and container, litter box, plus scooper, auto water and food feeders, and a mat for her food to sit on. We have a 1.75 year old male and a 9 month old female both are German Short Hair Pointer dogs. These dogs require an owner who knows about this breed, ,and who HUNTS! We want both to stay together as they are very attached to each other. We are gone 10 hours/day from the house and have the dogs in a dog run. We run them at night, but they need someone who hunts too.

We have a great deal of money invested in both the purchase and various vet bills and shots with these dogs, but are willing to give away to a good home for a small rehoming fee. They are VERY SWEET, kind to children. The female dog has been raised around cats, the male dog hasn't. We put a child's gate up between our family room and living room to block the dogs from the cats and this works well as the dogs NEVER jump this fence (only the backyard fence if given an opportunity).

Small rehoming fee

Hello I have a 3 year old German Shepard/ lab mix NOT FOR SALE. I know how important puppy socialization is so I have always brought her to the dog park 2 or 3 times a week. But for the last year or so she has started showing aggression toward other dogs and now there is only a hand full of dogs she gets a long with, including my other dog that loves everything and everybody. Other than that one issue she is a perfectly well behaved dog i have spent a lot of time training. I would like it if someone could recommend a trainer they know of that is willing to work on dog aggression. I just want to be able to take my Precious to the dog park again and be able to have fun with other dogs. Thank you so much

Anyway- I called and spoke with them on the phone- They wanted $400.00- I think thats too much for CL and thats why they did not mention the "rehoming fee"- I mean selling fee, in the ad. I could understand 200.00 maybe even 250.00- but not 400.00
It doesnt matter how much they bought it for- it's no longer a little puppy- and CL only allows a modest fee- lets not forget the dog in question was not fixed.....
They should pay for an ad in the local paper- idiots

Do you really think this is the best time to bring a puppy into your home?! If you're trying to give your son something to distract him from the fact that you're focusing your attention on the new baby, perhaps a doll or an animal TOY would be a better choice. Puppies require TONS of attention and training themselves for the first 12-18 mos.! Sounds like you're going to have your hands full already with a baby and a 4 yr old in the home. You should really reconsider this idea.

Original post:

We are looking for a puppy for our 4yr old son who has just been potty trained and is going to have a newborn sister within a few weeks. We are having a hard time finding "any" puppies; and he is getting very anxious considering we have been looking for weeks.

Hi,
My family has been toying with the idea of adopting a Border Collie for some time now, but before we make the leap we would like to foster or pet-sit one first. The reason we are so interested in the breed is because my husband is a marathon runner and would love a furry companion to train with and hike with for his alternative training. We have done our homework and have found that this breed would best suite these abilities and adapt well into a growing family. I enjoy training dogs very much and a Border Collie would be an excellent student, plus one day in the near future we are looking to moving to a place with lots of acreage and possibly cattle, so training to herd would be a plus! When we are ready to adopt we are positive that we want a puppy, preferably from a breeder where we can scope out the heritage and agility traits. We'd also prefer a pup because this dog is going to be our family member from the time they are taken from their mothers until their final day. Before we make this jump though, we really want to experience this breed one on one, maybe just for a couple days or even a couple weeks. We have just been faced with having to make the hardest decision and need to rehome our 3 yr old German Shepherd due to our infant sons allergies. He is an amazing, loyal, obedient dog with a heart of gold who would do anything for his masters. He loves to go for long runs, car rides, and is great with children of any age but will need to be an only pet as he is animal aggressive. He will come with a wire crate, furminator, harness, leash, collar, bag of food and bed. We are asking a rehoming fee of $200, maybe less if it is the right home for him.

I have a 9 mth old Labrador Retriever. He is neutered, UTD on shots except needs current rabies, he is fully housebroken, and is crate trained. He is a very sweet and loving boy. He is very active and playful. He is great with kids, I have a 1 yr old and a 2yr old and he is wonderful with them. He is great with other dogs and cats, just wants to play. He is a wonderful match for a family pet, and would make a wonderful companion for anyone. I just got him recently, but found out rather quickly that my 3yr old pug DOES NOT take well to him. She is aggressive with him. She does not like sharing the house at all. He is such a good boy, and I wish we could keep him but we cant. He does need more leash walking experience, as I do not believe he has had much of that. He will come with his crate, food and water bowls, toy, leash, brush, and bag of food he is currently eating. Please give him a home as I do not want to take him back to the shelter. He has a lot of love to give and lives to please. Email or txt if interested. 253-548-5115. Thanks.

Yes I love dogs but they stay in their chainlink yard. If your dogs try to kill my chickens, rabbits, sheep or horse or chase them I will shoot your dog and then call the Sheriff's Department so you will also be ticketed. Chickens are meat and if your dog kills them I am out the eggs and meat I would have gotten from them and any chicks I might have hatched from them. They do not lable a dog "dangerous" without a very good reason. If you truely love your dog keep them home on your property!
As the title says, I could use some advice from more pet knowledgeable people. I am a student with a P/T job. I've always wanted a pet and am open to ferrets, a cat, or a dog. I recently found a dog here on CL and am set to pick him up soon, but now I'm having second thoughts about whether a dog is really the right choice for me and my lifestyle. I'm worried my apt is too small and the dog will simply be unhappy (after seeing so many people post about their rehoming because of moving to a small apt). It's a constant yo-yo of thinking yes, its the right choice, and thinking it's a terrible one, and a cat or ferret is more suitable for me. I also was contacted to get a 2nd job---a job I've always wanted working with animals. Unfortunately, if I got said job (no guarantee I would), the dog would be alone for most of the day (10 hour shifts), which I know is not fair to the dog. The problem is I feel committed at this point, like if I suddenly changed my mind, I'd have wasted a lot of someone's time, I'm flaky, ect. and that really bothers me too.

I could really use some advice. Is there a way to determine if a dog (instead of a cat or ferrets) is the right choice for me? I'm struggling so badly with this decision to the point it's stressing me out, which defeats the purpose of getting any pet at all. :
I just bought this a couple hours ago from someone on here thinking it had a top that could close. In fact, it's open at the top and thus will not suit the purpose I had intended it for. I paid $10 and I'm asking the same since I have never used it. I am open to trading for a carrier that is completely enclosed. Let me know if you're interested!
We have a pure bred Pekingese dog and his name is Junior. He is about 3 years old. He gets along great with other dogs and cats and is very loving and friendly. We love him very much but we simply do not have enough time for him so he doessnt get the attention that he needs. He only has one eye but has alot of love to give. We think he would fit better in a home with no kids, or a lot of commotion. He is a very lazy dog but he does give a lot of love. We want a $30 re-homing fee. If you are interested email me at Laceyballard22@yahoo.com or call 206-931-0534
I'm looking for a small dog/puppy with a small rehoming fee ($60 or less). Please don't send me hat mail because I want a small rehoming fee. I'd like to be able to get my new beloved into OUR vet asap for my own peace of mind, and dropping several hundred dollars at once is not something I can do. This also doesn't make me undeserving of pet. Besides you should be more concerned about the home they are going to than how much you sell your pet for. I'm not looking for a purebred. Hairy or hairless makes no difference. Prefer a female but will take a male (either hopefully fixed) if not they will be. I don't want to add to the overpopulation with an unplanned litter. This is another reason for wanting a small fee. I need to be able to pay for this if necessary. I understand there is a lot to get when you first start out with a new fuzzy kid. I want to spend the big money on that.
*thanks in advance

During the move the bar on top of the tank broke. Technically it does still hold water, I've had water in it, but I just don't feel safe using it for fish. I'd recommend using it for a reptile, but if you want to take the chance go for it! I'm not careful enough to trust cutting the silicone and replacing the whole top piece, which can be done. I'm sure I'd crack the glass, so I got myself a new tank. I need a dog sitter for three days...your home... April 6th, 7th, and 8th. We have two small dogs, female Cocker Spaniel (13) and female Beagle(2). Neither one requires much attention, maybe 30 minutes of your time per day to feed/water, and take outside to do "business". Neither dog bites or has bad behavior. Well, the beagle will bark at certain things (typical for breed). The Beagle will run if not in a fenced yard, so will have to be leashed before letting outside. We have only had to leave our dogs one other time and hate to do this, so please be a responsible person. Looking for Littlerock/Tumwater or Olympia area. Pay would be $45.00... To the poster whos cat was shot......

I do agree with you that it is wrong for someone to cause undo suffering to any animal, but if you care about your cat so much why was it running loose? I admit, I am not a cat person due to the fact that I am alergic to them, but I do know they are wonderful pets. No animal should have to suffer a death like that. I am also glad that you were able to find your cat and take care of its body.

If it was hit by a car, would you be angry at the driver of the car that hit your cat that was in the road? It wouldn't be the drivers fault for your pet being loose. It would be your fault. And if an accident was caused by your animal running loose, you could be held liable.

It is a well known statistic that cats that are allowed to roam loose have half the life span as an indoor cat. Due to the fact of being hit, getting poisioned, attacked by another animal or killed by someone tired of someone elses pet crapping and spraying their urine all over their property.

I had a neighbor at one point that used to let his unaltered cats roam loose. They would constantly spray and mark my front door. He didn't care and would admit to animal control that he would watch his cats spray my door. He didn't care, stated they were just marking their territory and it was their right to spray my door and stink up my house. Well he landed out losing in court and had to pay for a new front door and to have a cleaning company come into my house to remove the urine smell that was in my house due to his cat.

I am sorry your cat was killed, but it would still be alive and living a happy and healthy life if it wasn't allowed to roam loose.

I am wondering if anyone in the Kitsap County area would be interested in purchasing some of these squishy caterpillars as food or treat for their reptile. He however is not fixed.
We are moving to a new home that is smaller and these guys need the room and more attention than they are getting right now. If you are serious then shoot me an email. I have an 8 month old lab/shar pei mix puppy that my old cat just won't love. Maible is gorgeous! I adopted her from the Humane Society just a few weeks back so she is spayed and microchipped. She's up-to-date on shots, including rabies, and the vet gave her a perfect bill of health this week. She is a lover but very active so she needs a big yard, fully fenced, to play football in but will snuggle on the couch or bed any chance she gets. She is crate trained, although she's not a big fan. Maible knows "no," come," "sit," "down," and "shake" although her "heel" and "stay" need some work. She would benefit from obedience training as she knows the commands but doesn't always like to follow them. Small kids probably aren't best as she is quite the active, large, strong pup. I have put quite a bit of money in to her so far so am asking for a $100 rehoming fee. Maible is truly a beautiful, loyal, loving companion and just needs to be the center of the universe for some lucky dog lover.

Im in search of a kitty for my daughter and I. My daughter has been begging me to get a cat since she could say "kitty". Now that my daughter is in school, life has quieted down a little and I have been working out of my home office more and more, I have decided I would like one just as bad as she does. Here is what we're looking for...

I would prefer an adult cat - Not that kittens aren't the cutest little things ever. But, we have a pretty calm household and kittens tend to be anything but calm.

Personality - the more the better. By personality I don't necessarily mean hyper or rambunctious (otherwise I'd just get a kitten). Playful is ok, climbing my curtains at 3 am or attacking us in our sleep for example.. not so ok.

Perfectly imperfect is ok - I am totally willing and able to consider taking in a special needs cat or one that otherwise might have a hard time finding a home because of an "imperfection". I grew up in a cat household with at one time an elderly one eyed cat, a deaf cat, and for a short time fostered a three legged cat. All three had fantastic personalities. Not necessarily searching for a special needs cat. But, "imperfect" would fit perfect in our house.

MUST love kids - My daughter is the biggest sweetheart and animal lover, ever. Don't really care if kitty gets along with the boyfriend, he can deal with it. And I couldn't really blame them if they dislike the exhusband, I hiss at him sometimes too. But if they didn't like my little girl it would probably break her little heart.

Indoor only - Just a preference. Don't have to worry so much about it being hit by a car, catching illness/deseases or being attacked by other animals. Just a little piece of mind I guess. Last kitty that I had for almost 10 years had to be put to sleep after it was mauled by a racoon. Racoon is now gone, but I have put off getting another kitty until now partly because the event was pretty tramatic.

If you have a kitty that needs a home and fits the above description please contact me and tell me about them. I am also keeping my eye open at the local shelters.
