We would prefer that you can move in April 1st or later in the month. About the house: A solid, meticulously maintained 3 bed/1 bath home boasts 9' ceilings, 5-panel doors, original millwork and gorgeous hardwoods. The main floor features huge kitchen with eating nook, formal dining room,and spacious light filled living room with cozy fireplace. There is a great view of downtown, the Olympic mountains, a little piece of the sound, and stadiums. Spacious unfinished basement with full-height ceiling with tons of potential for storage, projects, art space etc. There is a bit of space to share for a veggie garden. Top floor features the three bedrooms and bathroom. The bedroom for rent is of medium size with a nice big closet. The rent will be based on square footage and will be right around $570 or less with a $500 deposit. Plenty of street parking. Washer/Dryer. Utilities are water, sewer, garbage and are NOT included in the rent; we also have the internet. Pets with good references can be considered. About the roommates: Myself: If there is a blue sky I'll be there under it skiing, hiking, climbing, and playing in the vast playground that is the northwest. The house itself is quite large, 1200 sq feet with a converted garage, 1/2 acre of land, and lots of parking. Vashon Island is one of the most special places in the Northwest, and my home is one of the most beautiful spots on the island. The view literally takes your breath away; it spans 180 degrees of Puget Sound, Cascade Mountains, and sunrises that astound. Nestled above the water on a high bluff, the house is located near the bottom of a wooded, dead end road. There is public access to the rocky beach below just a short walk down the road. Bald eagles regularly soar by, seals call, and occasionally a pod of orcas will bound through the passage. We are two women in our mid-forties. One of us is a sign language interpreter, the other an arborist. We are down to earth, mellow people. We both eat healthy foods, are into the out-of-doors, and have a “green” consious household. I am looking to create a household that is somewhat communal, with some shared meals each week, and a nice connection. We both like to watch movies (but not TV), have dinners with good conversation, and there is talk of starting up a garden. The room is upstairs with a south-facing window.
