Sewer inspections save time and money by visually identifying and locating troubled spots in sewer lines. Our camera that goes through the sewer line and performs the sewer scope has a built in transmitter that allows us to exactly locate the position and depth. This allows us to locate problem areas and any connections that exist such as storm drains or other properties that may share the sewer line. A sewer inspection can be recorded for your convenience on VHS / DVD / Flash Drive onsite upon request.

In some cases customers have been out of state or not available at the time of inspection but would like to view the video as soon as possible. Often we can get access to the sewer line from an exterior clean out in the yard or the vent stack located on roof top. After we complete the inspection we can then post to our site for your viewing.

Troubleshooting

Sewer inspections help trouble shoot common sewer problems by identifying sewer line depth, location and condition. Isolating a problem area in the sewer line and knowing depth and location will help you determine the most cost effective way to approach a problem in sewer line.

Common Problems

I & I - Inflow & Infiltration is when storm water and ground water make their way into the sanitary sewer lines through joints, cracks, breaks and direct connections from drains and sump pumps. I & I can cause the sewer lines to be overwhelmed and backup.
<br>
<br>
Offset Joints - Concrete & Clay pipe are sections of pipe that over time may become separated and causing a offset joint and flow problem. When you have an offset joint that restricts the flow it's very important to only flush human waste and toilet paper. Feminine products, paper towels, baby wipes etc. don't break down and can cause blockage at offset. If a offset joint is reoccurring problem then excavation and replacement of section where offset is located will eliminate problem.

Grease - Can cause blockage in sewer line by collecting and building up around walls of pipe and roots if present.
<br>

<br>
Root Intrusion - Concrete & Clay pipe are often prone to root intrusion as they are not usually water tight pipe due to age and cracking. Roots seek out the water in the sewer line and enter through joints or cracks. Roots in your sewer line can cause flow problems especially if they lay in the flow line. You can deal with roots different ways and each way has its benefit depending on severity of roots.

Jetting - sewer line with high pressure water and cutting them from the walls of the pipe.
<br>
Sewer Snake - with special root cutter can cut the roots from pipe.
<br>
Root Killer - Is a product you can find at local hardware stores or online that will poison the roots and kill them.
<br>
Broken Pipe - When pipe is broken or collapsed, which is common in older concrete and clay pipe it may cause flow problems and a sewer scope can identify the exact location of problem for excavation and repair.
