<![CDATA[Overview: <br> <br> Tax Managers have a thorough knowledge of the Firm's policies and procedures and serve as intermediaries between partners, clients and staff accountants. They exhibit technical proficiency and the ability to supervise and complete engagements. <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> <br> Responsibilities: <br> <br> Responsibilities: <br> <br> 1) Advises, directs, and oversees the financial activities of the Client accounts, pertaining to preparation of tax returns, tax planning, and consulting. <br> 2) Reviews and prepares tax returns and tax planning or consulting memoranda. <br> 3) Provides technical advice to other staff and team members regarding tax and consulting issues. <br> 4) Trains and mentors staff in technical and procedural areas, recommends and arranges in-house and outside continuing education, as needed. <br> 5) Coordinates and reviews staff and team workloads and assignments for the tax department, including monitoring overtime and non-chargeable time. <br> 6) Ensures that all deadlines are met and monitors job control assignments. <br> 7) Institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures. <br> 8) Assists on special assignments and projects with Partners as needed. <br> 9) Evaluates the performance of team members and personnel working under manager's supervision, including recommendations for advancement or removal from the team or hiring additional personnel. <br> 10) Act as liaison for tax information and engagement requests and questions for clients served by both divisions. <br> 11) Maintains direct client contact in conjunction with staff and partners. <br> 12) Assume responsibility for complex tax research and planning projects. <br> 13) Identify opportunities for the Firm to provide additional services to existing clients. <br> <br> <br> Qualifications: <br> Education/Experience: <br> 1. Degree in Accounting and CPA. <br> 2. Knowledge of database, internet, and accounting and/or computer application systems to provide the most accurate financial and/or tax information. <br> <br> <br> <br> Skilled At: <br> Providing thorough analyses and sound financial, accounting, and tax planning advice; performing analytical and detailed work with numerical data and making arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately; preparing financial reports and records; examining and verifying financial documents and reports; working independently from general supervision and instructions; communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; multitasking; working in a fast-paced environment; maintaining good client and employee relations, and providing excellent client service. Must be proficient at analyzing, planning, researching, and providing advice and counsel to clients and staff on complex and diverse business, financial, and tax issues. <br> <br> <br> <br> Desirable Qualifications: <br> Computer literacy is a must. Proficiency in Accounting, Research, Tax Software, Internet, Microsoft Office, and other financial and accounting software packages is necessary. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. <br> <br> <br> <br> Minimum Requirements and Expectations: <br> 1. Annual client service billable hours of 1,600 per year. <br> 2. Ability to respond to workload requirements by working overtime when needed. <br> 3. Controls and maintains an average gross margin of 50% on client engagements supervised. <br> 4. Actively involved in various professional and community activities and organizations through membership and volunteer efforts. <br> 5. Flexibility to be able to travel to out of town engagements, when needed. <br> 6.
