The Program runs from November through April and prepares participants any full or half marathon or for the upcoming Go St. Louis Marathon. Unfortunately, the program's full-marathon coach had to leave. The YMCA is now looking for a full marathon leader Leader responsibilities include: Leading runners on routes through the Forest Park/Downtown area. Coordinating with the Director of Group Exercise (Kristina Gardner)on water breaks for the pack. Providing mental guidance during runs Leader perks include: Free entry into the program Two pre-marathon runs ( a 5K and a 15K) A free T-shirt Presentations given by St. Louis Injury and Rehabilitation, Big River Running Co., Dietician, and Personal Trainers and a yoga and cycling class. Currently, I can handle a good 4 vs 4 which is what we are really looking for, but the more people that reply the better. I will admit we are rather good, but haven't played as a team and we need some practice time for a tournament that is forth coming. If anyone is interested in wanting to attend or has some space for a reasonable price please let me know. The age is only a factor if you are under 16, because we'll have to get from A to B for the LAN. It's also because the game is for 17+ but we aren't going to turn people away. As far as my group, we range between 17 - 25. Any skill level is welcome for the LAN, we'd like to get getting something together next weekend if possible, or whenever. I'm looking for a running partner or running group interested in training for April St. Louis Marathon together. I'm what I like to think of as an "intermediate beginner" in my training. This is my first marathon. I run at about 9-9:30 minute miles, sometimes 10 minutes and my long runs are only 6 - 8 miles right now. The ideal person/persons I'd like to meet would be at about the same skill level. I'm hoping to run the marathon in less than four hours and would love other people to motivate one another and work on common fitness/running goals together. I have a family, so flexibility is key. I'm laid back, yet determined to meet my goals. I usually try to do long runs on Sunday mornings and a couple of shorter runs during the week. Time/place is negotiable.
