Here's what I'm doing and what I have.

I'm scanning photos, magazines etc, and then putting them through a Paint by Numbers software. The problem is, that when I blow them up the lines get pixellated/jagged.

According to what I can find, I need to convert the Paint by numbers images to Vector images as opposed to Raster images. Then they will scale up smoothly. Also I need to simplify the color range, (RGB?). What I'm thinking is that I need a VGA image, not an SVGA image?

I have Photoshop CS2, and a Pentium 3.

What do I need to buy (software?)(inkscape?) or can you do this for me cheap? or teach me how to do it? This is a no budget operation, so upgrading the desktop would not be my first choice.

Also if you can beat the online prices for printing images on canvas, I'd love to know that. They would only be black lines (see above)

Thanks
Looking for women with sex appeal and a lot of personality. | We are looking for a unique person who would love to live and work on a small rustic farm, with a ceramic studio, in SE Missouri. Someone who could team up with me and another artist to sculpt, market and sell our work. I have been selling my work off and on for 19 years. I do currently have several individual sales and a store account. I would be willing to teach the right person.
We are also working with a small organic garden that included's canning, freezing, saving seeds and best of all, cooking organic foods. We have been strict organic eaters for three years now. You will need to supply your own food unless you are as serious as we are with what you eat and can help in acquiring it.
I would appreciate someone who would love to help me with chickens, learn how to milk goats and help in taking care of a few other animals. Your own animals would be welcome. We have approximately three acres loosely fenced in and are surrounded by cow pastures.
It would also be very helpful if you could work with me in maintenance of buildings, electrical/plumbing and a large yard with a spring fed creek running through it that needs to be kept clear of debris and or landscaped if we wish.
The house is aprox. 2000 square feet, with three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The main studio is 11 X 30 with lots of windows and a jungle of plants. The kiln is in a separate room. We have a good furnace but prefer wood heat. Sorry, no A/C. If you get hot, you can go play in the creek. There is a satellite run to the room you would be renting. It would be your responsibility if you wish to use it. We do currently use land lines for our computers.
Rent, utilities and general expenses would be divided or balanced accordingly. A lot would depend on how much you can help out so we can all be in the studio.. First months rent would be $400.00 plus a deposit of $150.00.
We do not care if you smoke but please no heavy drinkers or chemical users. I do have some allergies to chemical fragrances and some cleaners that would need to be kept to a minimum or not used at all. Please let us know if you have any allergies or conditions of importance. We are heavy onion eaters.
Please, no TV or computer potatoes. We mostly use the computer for sales, research, reference and try to keep up with the political talk radio news when we can. We are Ron Paul supporters.
We do love a large variety of music and a good movie once in awhile, if it comes up.
We do ask that you have your own vehicle, are capable of cleaning up after yourself and can help keep the house and studio functional and presentable. You must be able to get along well with all persons and love all animals.
If this sounds like a lifestyle you can appreciate and enjoy, email so we can chat and cover some other issues. We will need references.
Hopefully, then we could set up an appointment to meet. | Artists and art groups: need links to your website?
Melancholia is an all girl group show curated by Cate Anevski. Cate (and a few volunteers) have hand selected work by some of the most stunning female artists working today. The exhibition is a dreary mix of classical oddities, soft curiosities, and snowy circus dream-scapes.

These pieces have lived a life...or many lives before I find them, some are tarnished or scratched ....little marks of experience only adding to their beauty. They may have once lay upon the rising chest of a woman from another time, she may have clutched it with a nervous hand,or stained it with a sorrowful tear.it may have been the only witness to her greatest joy or her deepest despair. She chose it according to her taste and wore it,in part,as a badge of her femininity, and it is my intention to allow that essence a new existence through each piece that I create.
plasma cut, MIG weld, do some heat forming and a few other smoker

specific techniques.
fabrication throughout your build no matter how long it takes you to

Students will split the cost of the competition and be responsible
for purchasing whatever they wish to cook and drink, etc.

LAST CALL FOR "FIRE SALE" ARTISTS

Art Coop is looking for 33 artists to exhibit their work at "Fire Sale," our annual holiday art sale. The Fire Sale event is November 28, from 7 to 11 pm, in our newly renovated 3,000 square foot space.

Artists are invited to submit three works each in any medium or mixed media. The purpose of Art Coop's annual Fire Sale show is to sell your three works exhibited by the end of the evening!

In addition to an art tag showing the full retail price, every work will also have a silent auction sheet beside it. This is where potential buyers can bid against each other by each writing down the highest price they'd pay for the work that night.

You must be willing to sell at least one of your works at ANY price to the highest bidder at the opening reception. (Your other two works may have any required minimum bid amount you choose to write in on the first bid line of each silent auction sheet.)

Having a fire sale silent auction where many of the works will be sold for ANY price will draw lots and lots of art buyers looking for a great deal. Don't forget, the Fire Sale event is the day after Thanksgiving, a prime time for people looking to buy Christmas gifts. At Art Coop's 2007 Fire Sale 73 works (out of 108) were sold.

For works submitted to be hung on the wall, each artist is limited to 6' of horizontal wall space for the three works. Large sculpture on the floor and smaller 3-D work on your pedestals are limited to a 6' by 6' space on the floor.

Art will be exhibited at 2720 North 14th, in the heart of the Old North St. Louis redevelopment area. This is just across the street from Crown Candy Company in a newly-renovated 3,000 square foot space.

Art Coop never charges a gallery commission on sales of your work, but there is a $25 entry fee per artist (not per work). Exhibition is limited to the first 33 artists accepted.

Deadline for received submissions is November 24. But don’t delay submitting. Submissions will be reviewed as received and accepted or rejected only until we have 33 artists accepted. 28 artist slots are already reserved.

To submit your work for review, reply to this post with photos of your work attached. Or provide a website address where we can see your work. In your submission please include your phone number(s) and the approximate size of each submitted work.

The folks at Art-House Co-op agreed to exhibit the Sketchbook Project at Soulard ART Market on March 11, 2008 from 6 to 10pm. The Sketchbook Project is like a concert tour, but with sketchbooks. Art-House sends you a sketchbook, you make the art. Then Art House is taking all the sketchbooks on a 6 city tour to galleries and museums across the U.S. The goal of the exhibition is to encourage anyone to create artwork and build a collective of sketchbooks made by artists from all over the world. The sketchbooks will be plastered across our wall and on tables , free for people to flip through. Art House in Atlanta Georgia is bringing artists together and giving everyone a chance to show in museums and galleries around the country. It's all about community.

You can participate by requesting a sketchbook from Art House Co Op. The deadline is February 22, 2009 for submission. Visit Art House website at www.arthousecoop.com/sketchbookproject

This class is an intensive and thorough hands-on weekend welding
workshop and more. Students will learn enough metalworking skills to

build their own smoker. Students will learn how to oxy/acetylene and
plasma cut, MIG weld, do some heat forming and a few other smoker
specific techniques.
We will discuss smoker designs, materials and devise a fabrication

materials you will need to finish your smoker in your shop, garage

fabrication throughout your build no matter how long it takes you to

finish.

After the weekend class, materials would be up to you to purchase,

pick up. I can do some cutting, rolling or other fabrication for you
your new smoker in a KCBS sanctioned BBQ competition in the spring.

Students will split the cost of the competition and be responsible
for purchasing whatever they wish to cook and drink, etc.

How the work is judged: The Naughti Gras Show tries to be edgier, and more fun than what one might expect from an erotic art exhibition. Other than legal age requirements, nothing is censored, nothing too filthy or too subtle. All art is considered, from the high, to the low, from the biggest names, to the first timers. We have seen erotic work from expressionists, abstracts, commercial artists, photographers, and more. Comic and pin-up art has as much chance as a realistically rendered fine-art piece. We want to be amazed, excited, astounded, humored or aghast, we love it all.

The Naughti Gras Show is juried by the organizers along with a few experts we respect.
Art ranges from classic museum quality craftsmanship, to crude at-tempts at expressionism. The decision all boils down to, do we like it? Our main criteria are, “Is it erotic?” closely followed by “Is it good?”
This covers a huge spectrum, as “erotic” can cover many areas. We’ll admit, some art goes way over the edge, if you can shock us; you will most likely end up on the wall.

Alright then, Let’s Get Naughti!

"Cruisin’ Up The Mighty Mississipp"
ghl 6 June 2006

Last day of July you chose to ring;
wondering if I might
care to take a dip
in the Mighty Mississipp with you.
I dove.

With your directions I drove
like a man late for his flight.
Did not tarry, nor trip
to cruise on the river, wide and true,
with someone my heart considers King.

Typical summer day; hazy, hot but bright.
You at the helm, hand on hip,
swimtrunks – summer faded hue.
In your realm – my treasure trove.
You greeted me and our eyes began to sing.

Handed me a beer to sip.
A secret kiss, to you, I blew.
As we did that day; my mind tends to rove
to those memories that trigger a heart zing.
Nothing about that day is trite.

We were the only crew;
searching for a private cove
to anchor and be one with the current’s swing.
(You were being open; but not that quite.)
Up river, you let the engine rip!

We found a shady grove –
smooched and chatted about what time might bring.
Day turned to night
while your kisses made my heart flip.
That meaningful day, others as such are few.
CALL FOR ARTISTS

Art Coop is looking for 33 artists to exhibit their work at "Fire Sale," our annual holiday art show. The opening reception for Fire Sale is November 28, from 7 to 11 pm, in our newly renovated 3,000 square foot space.

Artists are invited to submit three works each in any medium or mixed media. The purpose of Art Coop's annual Fire Sale show is to sell your three works exhibited by the end of the opening reception!

Don't forget, the Fire Sale opening reception is the day after Thanksgiving, a prime time for people looking to buy Christmas gifts.

Any art unsold after the opening reception will still remain on exhibition for bids and sales from November 28 to December 17.

9 artist slots are already reserved.

To submit your work for review, send an email to artcoop@live.com with photos of your work attached. Or provide a website address where we can see your work. In your submission please include your phone number(s) and the approximate size of each submitted work.

Feel welcome to post this call for artists, or forward it to other artists that may be interested. Thanks.

(To be added to the Art Coop email list send a blank email to artcoop@live.com with the word "Subscribe" in the subject line.)

CHEROKEE PRINT LEAGUE HOLIDAY SALE!

In celebration of the growing arts scene in the Cherokee neighborhood and in greater Saint Louis, several businesses on Cherokee street have organized a holiday show and sale to take place Saturday, December 6th from 11-9. This indoor print-themed craft show will take place all along the street, with businesses "hosting" artists from all over the metro area whose work is print-related (printmaking, letterpress, screenprinting, bookbinding, printed fabrics, etc.)

WE'D LOVE TO HAVE YOU PARTICIPATE!

This is organized as a sale rather than an art show, and we expect a huge turnout, so it would be a great way to make some cash before the holiday season. You will be provided with a table in an indoor, heated space, and your name and location will be included on a map of the event that will be available the day of the sale.
