Major Duties:

This nurse manager will be assigned by Nursing Service to the Cardiology Section and he/she will be directly supervised by, responsible to, and evaluated by the Chief of Cardiology. She/he will execute position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care. This manager will at minimum meet the dimensions of the Nurse II standards and expand the scope as follows.

1. The Nurse Manager will be function in a collaborative position with the Chief of the Cardiology Service and will provide leadership in the application of the nursing process to patient care, organizational processes and/or systems, and improving outcomes at the Service level.
<br>
<br>
2. Initiate interdisciplinary projects to improve the organizational and overall performance of the Cardiology Service.
<br>
<br>
3. Professional standards of care and practice to evaluate the various cardiology programs and other service activities.
<br>
<br>
4. Implement an educational plan to meet changing service for self and others and will be knowledgeable about current techniques, trends, and professional issues.
<br>
<br>
5. Coach colleagues in team building and will make sustained contributions to health care by sharing expertise within and/or outside the medical facility.
<br>
<br>
6. Provide leadership in identifying and addressing ethical issues that impact patients and other clients and staff, including initiating and participating in ethics consultations.
<br>
<br>
7. Group process to identify, analyze, and resolve care problems.
<br>
<br>
8. Collaborate with others in research activities to improve care.
<br>
<br>
9. Manage Cardiology Service resources (financial, human, material, or informational) to facilitate safe, effective, and efficient care.

Qualifications:

1. Demonstrates the ability to utilize the nursing process as a problem solving model and function in an autonomous manner.

EDUCATIONAL /EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and two or more years of successful nursing practice.
<br>
<br>
2. One year of leadership and management experience at the Nurse II level or equivalent.
<br>
<br>
3. BLS/ACLS certification.
<br>
<br>
You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
<br>
<br>
After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use.

You must have a certification, licensure, or registration credentials in Licensure for this position. In some cases, these may be substituted for experience and education.

POSITION SUMMARIES:

<br>
REGISTERED NURSE - CASE MANAGER - Perform the duties required to provide case management services, advocacy and triage to the insured, uninsured, and homeless clients in designated service area. The nurse’s duties, functions, and responsibilities are in accord with the Missouri State Board of Nursing Practice Act.
<br>
<br>
CLINIC NURSE COORDINATOR - Perform the duties required to coordinate and monitor provision of medical services in a professional manner for each individual patient.
<br>
<br>
EDUCATION: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing preferred.
<br>
<br>
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Registered Nurse in primary care, community health setting, case management or related field.
<br>
<br>
LICENSE(S)/CERTIFICATION(S) REQUIRED:
<br>
<br>
1. Licensed as Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Missouri.
<br>
2. CPR certified.
<br>
