<![CDATA[I'm the op of the Yes consumers its somewhat true, but just use commonsense u'll be fine. But ur right some things you are better out hiring and paying little more for. I inpected my parents furnace last week and its fine, and have done all the maintainance for last 10 years. I wouldn't professionally advertise inspection of this type of work because its not my specialized field of trade. Over the years I have gave my opinions on it as a basic inspection usually visually looking for signs of a bad install or concerns. But its only my opinions as a trade professional not as a specialized trade. but I would do the work for people I know and family. But I agree 100%, that you have to really be careful of carbon monoxide and some people know very little about the mechanics to really understand the proper way to maintain it. So if your going to get your Furnace inspected this year this is one area that your better off paying to get a licensed/bonded Furnace contractor. And always get 3 written estimates. Plumbing on the other hand in my opinion is different story, but I will agree on the Furnace issue. ]]>
